No. Islamic militants regard America as the Great Satan because of the decadence that they see in our lifestyle, and because of the cultural imperialism that causes us to keep trying to reform the rest of the world in our image.

If Christianity were the reason, bin Laden would not be singling the US out (yes, I know there are terrorist attacks elsewhere in the world, but nothing like 9/11). He would be carrying out a full-blown war against most of Europe, as well as Russia and North and South America.

For the reasons bin Laden hates us, you have to think of the symbolism of th 9\11 attacks. The destruction of the Twin Towers was an attack on our economic power; the attempted strike on the White House was meant to cripple our political power; and the plane that hit the Pentagon was intended as a blow to our military power. Nowhere was a symbol of religion hit.

Absolutely. All religions are the root of all wars. You have an organized group of people that believe in this god and religion, and another organized group of people that believe in this other god and the way reality "should" be. I'm right and you're wrong = war. Osama and his religious group hating ours is no different. The problem here is that religious groups, because of their nature are so large, that the religious get the idea that ALL of a country must believe in that "other" religion. Most of us probably think that all of Iraq believes in Allah, and they think that all of the US believes in Jesus.

Western society's lifestyle is a threat to them. Especially, when we are in the verge of changing from fossil fuel to a clean source of energy. This will means that we will no longer depend on oil, affecting tremendously the Middle Eastern economy. Before this happens, they intend to annihilate us or try to change our minds by means of terrorism in order for us not to accomplish our future goals.

Not at all. If everyone just lived their lives in accordance to the Bible, we wouldn't wage war for Any Reason. Religious Leaders are at fault there, and not the Bible.

I think religion is the cause of it all. America is just as evil as Bin Ladin. Stop the religion and you'll stop the killing.

"Osama dumb ladin"? Thought that was good.

He didn't seem to mind when we supplied the Mujahideen with weapons in their fight with the Russians in Afghanistan. Which they would have lost without. He probably couldn't give up the attention of being a hero to some.
