because we didn't come from monkeys

That's kind of like saying if manatees came from elephants why are there still elephants or vice verse. Since elephant's and manatees aren't really related but they share a common ancestor so in a sense we did come from monkeys Everything evolves, just like the monkey's in Australia and Africa they were once the same kind but now because of evolution and change they're different, some have short tails some have long.

How about I give you a few examples to try and show you how ignorant your question really sounds to everyone else. I am sure you thought it was a clever one but really it's not.

If dogs came from wolves, why are there still wolves?

If butterflies come from caterpillars, why are there still caterpillars?

If domestic cats come from wild cats, why are there still wild cats?

Now go out and catch a few foxes, male and female, bring them home and keep them seperate from all the other wild foxes back where they came from. After a few generations of breeding the foxes when they start to show signs of domestication ie neoteny, variation in coloring etc. Go back out to where you found them in the first place and tell me are the rest of the foxes gone? have they vanished because some of their kind started to adapt and change in a new environment with new evolutionary pressures?? Of course the answer is no.. You could go out and split every population of animals on the planet in half and still one half will not dissapear.. depending on the environment you place each half in they will experience different evolutionary pressures and eventually diverge from one another but they will both still be there.
Do you get it now? I certainly hope so.

Can't you people get anything right? We don't "come from" contemporary monkeys. Man and the apes are descended from a common ancestor. Good grief. If you were even the tiniest bit interested in the facts, you could go to any natural science museum or read any basic science textbook. But you're too lazy and stupid to do that. You;'d rather just as dumb questions like the one you just asked. Jeeeezus.

Excuse me while I bash my head against this wall.........
Thats better now my intelligence is low enough to answer the question.
How many times must this question get asked. Try this, GOOGLE, I know strange word but it has a lot of answers.
Instead of using stupid questions to try and prove a mute point, actually try and learn something. I know one thing you need to learn is that all of life's mysteries are not answered by one book.
It was man who chose what was worthy to go into the Bible, how does God feel about some of His words been called irrelevant?
Does this make Him Happy?

If we came from monkeys, scientists would have discovered that fact and told us so. But no scientist has EVER suggested that humans came from monkeys. You will ask such foolish questions as long as you get your scientific misinformation from fundamentalist biblical misinterpretations instead of from scientific sources.

Here's a site where you can get a little actual information, assuming that you have not already reached the point of avoiding information in order to hang onto your preacher's interpretations of the Bible ...

We didn't come from monkeys nor do we have any common ancestor.

Evolution is a concept dreamed up to deny God.

If you believe in evolution, then that is your own religion. I'd hate to have it taught as fact to my children.

"If America was colonized by England, then how come there are still Englishmen?"

OK... once you are able to intellectually grasp just HOW stupid my question is (above), and WHY it is stupid, then you might be well on the road to understanding those same things about your OWN question.

P.S.: Scientists do NOT say we came from monkeys. The only people who CLAIM that scientists say that are lying creationists who are intent on keep their 'flock' of sheeple bamboozled... not wanting them to have access to real knowledge, and not wanting them to know HOW to think.

Hey... they're GOOD at it... they've sure got YOU bamboozled.

If we come from monkeys then why has no-one been able to see the process and how come some monkeys just die and some turn into ppl....lol That's why evolution seems so unrealistic, but if ppl didn't believe in evolution then it would force them to believe in creation and then they would have to be faithful to God and that would mean you can't do what you want when you want without being held accountable....just my opinion

Monkeys are different from chimpanzees (they're considered great apes.) We share most of our genetic material with chimps. We're not descended from them either, rather we're a related species. Both humans and great apes have a common ancestor, and that explains why we share so much genetic info with them.
