Is it me or do we never hear anything about any female werewolves? I never hear them in any stories nor in any monster movies. Why is that?

its quite simple.
because we are known as the perfect warriors, and beings that should be feared.
the image of a ginormous wolf is scary as it is.
but it becomes alot more so when the wolf is the alpha male known to be the feircest of the pack.
its all imagry and control.
but yes there are female werewolves.
and I for one would love to meet one!!!

Actually, you have a really good point. We hear about female vampires, but no female werewolves... Although in the book Eclipse, there is one female werewolve. In movies we don't have female werewolves either. Like Underwold, there were female vamps, but I have yet to see a female werewolve. Maybe it's the idea of a female being so rough like that. I have no idea. Great quetstion though!

Probably because of the whole alpha male thing. (Though, isn't it the female's job to hunt for food in a pack? I could be wrong.) What's her name Laura? Laurell? K. Hamilton has all sorts of weird stuff in her novels. There werewolves are in packs, and thus have females.
Movies in general usually only have 1 werewolf, so they make it male. Plus, in my opinion, it's probably an easier costume to make. lol Then that whole, evil male hunting down unsuspecting females is a theme done most often. Same with some vampire stories.

The female what? they don't exist for goodness sake. They're all a fantasy, not real, a story. You know, like that twilight sh*t that's been causing all this tripe amongst those members of our society who just haven't developed the mental skills necessary to take on board that they're all a fantasy for entertainment..

Check out "The Howling". (The original, not the crappy sequels.) There's plenty of female werewolves in there. Also check out "Dog Soldiers" for a female werewolf or two.

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Kurtis Klause was a female werewolf book. There you go, now you've heard.
