...that they haven't excommunicated Bush for being a false prophet of God. Saying God told him to "end the tyranny in Iraq".....sure, it should've happened...but I think God would've had a better plan than "stay the course'

agree?

In an answer to another question I was told that the reason for the apparent contradiction between the two ages quoted below was that "In 2 Kings 8:26, it shows Ahaziah's true age. In 2 Chronicles 22:2, it is saying that is how long Ahaziah was a son of the house of Omri, through his mother."

How do I establish whether or not that is the case?

“Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.” 2 Chronicles 22:2

“Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.” 2 Kings 8:26

So let my lord go on ahead of his servant, while I move along slowly at the pace of the droves before me and that of the children, until I come to my lord in Seir. - Genesis 33:14

Most men go through a "warrior stage" of life. In this stage of manhood, the man is known by what he does, what he accomplishes, and he is totally defined by his performance. It can be a tumultuous time for the man and those close to him. It is often signified by broken relationships because the goal is often more important than the way the goal is accomplished. When I meet with a man, I can easily determine what stage of life he is in by hearing him talk.

I used to be Christian and I was programmed to feel guilty every time a thought that could even remotely be considered "sinful" crossed my mind or if I performed any action that might be considered "sinful". Now that I have gotten out of religion, the remnants of that mindset still remain. I'll explain what I mean.
Now when I do something that would considered "sinful" or if I see someone else doing something "sinful", it's like I recognize it, but I don't feel the same way I would have when I was a Christian. It's like an automatic thinking process, it comes up involuntarily. It's as if I scan every thought that goes through my mind and everything I encounter in terms of it's "sinfulness". I sometimes feel the need to point out sinfulness jokingly or sometimes even resentfully when other Christians are around to annoy them. I don't feel unnecessary guilt for these things.
I've been clean from Christianity for five years and I thought these symptoms would have cleared up by now.

im a Roman Catholic but im seriously doubting my faith.

Omni-present (everywhere)

So you have millions of prayers a second being offered to her.
Asking Mary to be there at the hour of their death, asking her to guide them, help them, teach them, secure for them eternal redemption and imploring her to come dwell in their hearts as though she were able to fulfill all these requests

We Roman Catholics may deny that Mary is a god, but by asking all these things of her, she would have to be God to do them wouldnt she?
Why have we given Mary the attributes that belong to God alone?

I have practiced Catholicism for 20 years and I can, from experience, tell you that we pray to her, through her, and by her.

This is one of many things I am now doubting about my church teachings.

Son is away at grad school and thinks that we should let his college dorm mate and friend stay at our house for two days even though he won't be there. His room is taken over by his brother and the couple would have to sleep on my living room sofa.I have met this person only three times. I am not keen on this and said no. Now my son is livid with me. Am I wrong?

I will give you a clue, they appear in almost every religion, and are the Morals that each religion claims to teach. If these rules are in just about every religion then why does each religion say that they are the only true religion? Christians say that christian values need to be taught in school, but the values are the same basic values taught by common sense. Outside of these general morals there are many misleading closed minded teachings that contradict the very morals that are taught by nearly every religion (death to ubelievers, condemnation, no marriage outside of certain religions, and the intollerance associated with closing your mind from influences such as science and philosophy outside of your own religion.)

My religion is simply to follow these morals. Personally I study religion as mythological fiction extensively.
