Consciousness arises from brain activity yet there have been a lot of instances where people have said to be extremely aware of what's going on around them (even more so than normal) when they aren't supposed to have any brain function ( i.e. medically induced coma or any other operation).
Near death experiences or out-of-body experiences have all been documented and sometimes valided by scientists ( I know yall loooove your scientists).
Now, without brain activity, what would be left if not our souls?

The church by my house has this saying on it,

I mean any form, by your own boyfriend, or daterape, or by a stranger. I am just wondering how common this is, I think it's more common than most people think. Share your story, if you want to. This has happened to me TWICE. I have a couple of friends who also have been. It's sick how often this happens.

Asalamualaikum,
I know that in Islam we don't believe in superstitions but there is something that I am unsure of. Some people say that when the palm of your right hand feels itchy it means there is money coming your way. I don't know if this is true or not but when it happens to me, money does come my way. One example, only yesterday my right hand was feeling itchy and today I received a cheque in the mail!
So my question is....is there any truth in this or is it just another superstition??
And please note: IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY THEN DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL.

I've been with my girlfriend for three months now, and we have been sleeping in the same bed almost every night. But so far we still haven't had real "sex" yet. The farest we've got was just topless with panties on, we would kiss aggressively for hours everynight but neither of us would make the first move to go all the way. I think there is this game going on between us right now to see who would make the first move, but neither of us would give in. Do you know we have all sinned against God? (Romans 3:23)
If you do not care about this, and think it does not apply to you, did you also know we will all stand before Him on judgment and He will judge us according to HIS standards? See Revelation 20.
So according to HIS standards we have ALL sinned- and we must all be forgiven in order to be set free, and given eternal life with Him.
The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) this means hell- as the Bible says- the second death is the lake of fire where those who are not secure in Christ Jesus will go for eternity.
I do not want this to happen to anyone! That is why I am asking you- do you know what sin is? The seriousness of sin? Do you know how you can be set free? Through Jesus Christ! He died and rose again, so when you confess your sins and repent of them- believe He is Lord, you are forgiven, saved. Sealed with the Holy Spirit, who will teach you all truth, and grant you new desires in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 1)

According to the Oxford University sociologist Diego Gambetta, editor of Making Sense of Suicide Missions, a comprehensive history of this troubling yet topical phenomenon, while suicide missions are not always religiously motivated, when religion is involved, it is always Muslim. Why is this? Why is Islam the only religion that motivates its followers to commit suicide missions?

What distinguishes Islam from other major religions is that it tolerates polygyny. By allowing some men to monopolize all women and altogether excluding many men from reproductive opportunities, polygyny creates shortages of available women. If 50 percent of men have two wives each, then the other 50 percent don't get any wives at all.

My friend and I were having a rather enlightening conversation where we spoke about the decline of faith and believers in society as time continues.

He told me that "back in Biblical times" they walked with angels, miracles were nearly everday occurances. Mankind had to have divine intervention in order to survive and what not. But nowadays, in today's society, we have everything. No one can ever truly fall as hard as they did back then. There is always SOMETHING.

So I feel that in a way science and industrialism has kindof replaced God. Not saying people worship machines (although some would argue they do) but more or less that machines have taken over God's role of providing for us.

As such, do you feel that as we move further and further into becoming entirely self-sufficiently, our faith, our belief in God will ultimately wane into non-existence?

Do you think that our faith and our need for God is what made God in the first place?

i finally told my parents that i was atheist. my mom is catholic, and my dad is christian. we don't go to church, but my mom is still very religious. she doesnt want to accept the fact that i'm atheist. usually when i do something, shell go around telling all her friends about it. but now that i tell her i'm atheist, she doesn't want anyone to know! my dad doesnt seem to make a big deal out of it. he thinks that i should have the right to believe in what i want to believe in, buy my mom's obviously anti that. how do i get her to become ok with me being atheist? or is that even possible? i also went school shopping with her, and i found a really cute pair of shoes with skulls on it, and she grabbed my arm and stormed out the store and said 'skulls represent the devil, i don't like them' and refuses to buy me anything with skulls. just because their skulls doesnt mean i'm trying to represent the devil!! i just think they looked cute! so how do i convince her that skulls/atheism is ok?
