1. Living things are trying to evolve.

2. Evolution implies progress (over time, organisms will undeniably become smarter and more complex).

3. If one species evolves into another, the original species must die out.

4. Evolution is pure chance.

5. Evolution is "only a theory," meaning it has little evidence, and other hypothesises are equally valid.

6. Evolution is supported only by Atheists.

7. Humans evolved from monkeys.

8. Evolution is not observable.

9. Evolution takes faith.

These misconceptions (I've heard all these and more) are spread by people who think evolution is attacking their beliefs, and instead of finding support for their ideas they conclude that by disproving a well-backed theory it will prove their hypothesis (not true).

If you answered true to any of these questions, you are extremely uneducated on the theory. To make a final conclusion without even understanding evolution is sheer ignorance.

I have seen quite a few comments on these forums similar to "I am not raising my child in any religion because I want him or her to decide for himself when he gets older."

Are parents like this shirking their responsibility to God to raise their children when they do this?

I have to tell you, when someone asks a question like this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Akqd.XTmYJWD3sGpnFzVJKTd7BR.?qid=20070820084131AAP9n9a
It only serves to eliminate all possibility of me taking you and your religion seriously.

Clearly this person has no comprehension of evolutionary theory. Whether you agree with evolution or not, you should at least equip yourself with a basic understanding of how it's supposed to work.

I know there are some educated Christians out there who know what I'm talking about. Do you have no interest in educating your Christian brothers and sisters? Or are you ok with allowing them to make the rest of you look stupid?

You dont know anything at all about the people answering the questions, nothing about their life. You dont know what event in their life made them think the way they do, but you start calling them names even so. (i heared christians are stupid, atheists are ciminals and all kind of more-than-silly things)
I'm NOT asking this question to everybody, but only to those who give people names and jump into conclusions about somebody without knowing enough.

I've found a lot of websites but the prices are outragous, I'm finding them for $50 one lens. Just to get a pair and pay for shipping costs I'm spending over a $100.00. Does anyone know of a cheap website or a store I can drive to to find these. I stay in Virginia.

Why are so many ppl so into it, also all evolutionists say they want theories of Creationism to be proved true, but if I gave you evidence of my theory, (which is what they are, theories, since I just trust God anyway and dont worry about where I came from) you would just deny it immediately. So I challenge you to google "findings" of Noah's Ark on the Top of Mt. Ararat. To be honest there is no irrespudible proof that this is or isn't Noah's Ark, since most of it is well decayed, but there is proof that your so called "Nebraska Man" is an extinct pig.

What do you think of Princess Diana??

2007-08-20 05:00:05 · 23 answers · asked by Exoxo13 1 in Royalty

if not, then why won't you try someone else's holidays? wouldn't this be open minded of you, and help dispell the stereotype of the closed minded christian fundie?

and this doesn't have to relate only to halloween, what about a muslim celebration, or jewish, or anything different? it also might help you understand the religions better and realize that they're not evil.

Polite in a rude way-"May you PLEASE turn that radio down?!"

Rude in a polite way-"I'm sorry to tell you, but you're stupid."

***When I use the term WAY in this scenario, I mean tone of voice.

If you increase each letter you get "mpjhjmfs"

Now if you add the letter "a" between wach consonant you get "mapjahjamfas"

LEave a space between each 3 letters.

map jah jam fas

Take out the "jah" and the "fas"

"map jam"

Take the first letter of each word and put it at the end, then join the words.

"Pammaj"

Add an "S" tp the fornt

Spammaj

You pronounce it Spammage.

So therefore religion is spam.

I'm 15, and my parents aren't very religious, along with the rest of my family. We used to go to church when I was younger (think Pre-K) and I went to Sunday School and such. I've been told that we stopped going because my parents wanted us to grow up to believe what we choose to, and that they don't want to force us to do anything we don't want to, and I respect them for that. I'm Methodist, and the church is about 2 blocks from my house.

But, like I asked (I tend to ramble a bit), I don't know how to ask my parents if I can go to church. They're pretty open to things like this, but religion is such a touchy subject, and I'm not sure how to approach this.

There was this man on my contacts list. I thought at first hat he was a caring friend. He always tells me to think positive, but every one of my questions that I ask, he always answers them in an exasperated & insulting way. Isn't that contradictory? Today he posted an answer that made me so mad I had to take him off my contacts & block him. If my questions annoy him, then he shouldn't answer, right?

What do people who believe in religion say about the ancient Greeks, or the Ancient Egyptians' religions? Keep in mind that they were a group of people too and also keep in mind as to what THEY would say were we to ask them their thoughts on OUR present day religion. Does that just say that everybody is right, or that everybody is wrong?
