What do people who believe in religion say about the ancient Greeks, or the Ancient Egyptians' religions? Keep in mind that they were a group of people too and also keep in mind as to what THEY would say were we to ask them their thoughts on OUR present day religion. Does that just say that everybody is right, or that everybody is wrong?

It says only that religion makes no sense in or out of a given time. It may seem to some people that it does, but the fact is; it does not. One can see then, one can see now, but one has greater difficulty in seeing how future generations will see our generation. It is relatively easy to see behind oneself, and around oneself, but very difficult to see ahead of oneself.

I like this question. I would have to go with the Everybody is wrong. to me its the only thing that makes sence. If everybody is right then Everybody is in direct contradiction to each other. If I say Religion A is right and you say Religion B is right and someone else say that Religion C is right, then we have to accectp that either 2/3 of us are wrong or that we are all wrong. Now multiply this by the number of different religions in our world, past and present. you have to say that 95% of the world is wrong and " I " am right or you have to say that all thre religions are wrong. Besides, most of the religions that are still around today have been changed and morphed into something completely different then what they were to start out with. Hope thats helps some, I know i can be hard to follow. lol.

religion is a way to explain things that cant be explained. Its a creation of man, thus the reason there have been thousands of religions throughout history. The smallest tribe in the middle of the jungle practices religion, to explain that which they cant. Many religions have evolved from basic functions of the world, such as love, the sun and moon, harvest, luck, to the ultimate in unexplainable, life and death.
Religion is a creation of man, all religions are correct, because they are all personal, no religion can possibly be wrong, because the god doesnt exist, only the belief, and the laws and rules that they follow.

No religion is "right" or "wrong". God is too big a concept to fit into any single religion. Each religion is a different way to explore what is the divine and how do we personaly connect to the whole of creation.

There is a belief among some Buddist sects that god has 9 million names and our collective mission in this life is to learn all of these.

Perhaps god is like an immense jem stone with millions of facets. The practitioners of each religion see themselves reflected in a single facet and say, "that is god" but most never see more than one facet of the jem. Some people will learn of other religions and that is like walking around the jem and seeing yourself reflected in a few other facets. The reflection is still you but as you see it reflected in different facets you see yourself little differently.

I do not study the Egyptians but I do study the Greeks and I admit they had interesting beliefs. It is appearant however, that their gods were a created from someone with a grand imagination. Like the Babylonians before them, they were just trying to make sense of the world and how everything worked and what or who controlled everything. I think it is funny now that instead of believing in gods or one true God most of the world wants to believe everything evolved out of mere random chance from nothing and NOTHING controls the universe. What is more senseable, believing in Zues, Jupiter, Venus and the other god of Greek mythology or believing in nothing created everything and nothing is in control?

i guess my mind is really murky today, b/c that is yet another question tha doesnt make any sense to me.

i think you are asking what modern people of faith think about ancient religions. well we've been to the top of Mt. Olympus and it's empty.
as for the ancient egyptians, they buried their dead with all their stuff, but when we opened the tombs they were still dead inside and all their stuff was dusty.

Religion is a matter of FAITH, not who is wrong or right. Everyone is free to believe in whatever the heck they want. It doesn't bother me in the least if people want to worship rats or eight armed goddesses, as long as they are tolerant of what I believe in.

Right or wrong has nothing to do with faith.

It says we all should be able to believe whatever we want, and no one should be pushing their views on anyone else. There'd be alot less wars if we followed that simple rule.

It says everyone who existed has or had an opinion about the nature of existence, our origins and what happens after death.
