When I was young we visited Atlantic City well after its glory days. A hotel was recommended to us by a senior citizen and so we chose that one to stay.

When we got there the place was a dump but we had no other alternative. My mother, sister, and I shared one of these old beds where a light bulb hung above us. When we all got in the whole bed fell in. Plus it was not the cleanest place. Needless to say, no one got any sleep that night.

I think the senior who recommended it was thinking about how it use to be when they last visited this hotel.

Life experiences - gotta love it

His encounter with the Messiah Kaduri claimed is alive in Israel today, he reportedly told close relatives: "He is not saying, 'I am the Messiah, give me the leadership.' Rather the nation is pushing him to lead them, after they find [in my words] signs showing that he has the status of Messiah."

Kaduri wrote that not all will believe in the Messiah – and that it will often be easier for non-religious people to accept him. He also describes a Messiah who is, at first, not aware of his position.

A few months before his death, Kaduri gave a Yom Kippur address in which he gave clues as to how to recognize the Messiah. He told those gathered for the Day of Atonement in his synagogue the Messiah would not come until former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon dies.

Kaduri was also quoted as saying the imminent arrival of the Messiah will "save Jerusalem from Islam and Christianity that wish to take Jerusalem from the Jewish Nation – but they will not succeed

What if you have the money, should you put the money in even if you don't want to? How much should be given? Does God care if you don't?

What will the Catholic congregation think- will they welcome me or think 'not another convert'? Also I do not know fully how to take part in the Catholic Mass e.g crossing myself at the appropriate points and knowing the proper responses - do not want to look stupid or look like i'm being disrespectful. Am I actually allowed into the Mass, as I'm not Catholic? I know that I can't take communion in a Catholic church as although I'm baptised it is in the Anglican church, so I'm barred - although I can go up for a blessing. I'm worried about contacting the local Priest as I'm worried what his reaction will be - will he tell me to stick with the Anglican church? Thank you!

Pornography encourages the objectification of the human form and the trivialisation of sex, sexual inter-course and intimate bonding.

Would it not be fair to say that we would live in a better society if it was not for pornography, and through pornographies objectification and trivialisation of what should be an intimate act between two people who love each other, is it not also fair to say that it encourages sexual predatory and deviant perverseness.

By banning pornography would we not be making our society a safer place for both ourselves, our children and our families, and if the answer to this is yes – Then why has it not been banned already

I would love to hear your views on the matter

Do ANYTHING without human intervention?

If it's gods will to cure the sick, why does he choose to do it through doctors, instead of faith alone?

If god's will is for his church to have power, water, and telephone service, why does he need electricity, water, and phone service from human run utility companies?

If god meant for the whole world to know about him, why does he need people to tell other people about him?

If god wants to forgive you for your sins, why does he need to have his "son" be killed by humans?

Why can't god do any of this stuff WITHOUT human intervention? Is he powerless to do so, or is he too lazy to do so? Or does he just not care?

No, I don't believe in any gods, I've done the research and know that god is pure speculation, and nothing more. I'm just interested in the stories religious people tell themselves to reconcile the reality of these things with the theology they've been taught. Please, feel free to share your thoughts.

I'm wondering if there is a way to get past skin color all together. If there will ever be a time when we can look at a situation as human beings instead of as a "white man, black man, mexican american, european, etc) Will we all ever just be "Hu MAN"?

They failed at their job and too call them heroes is just plain wrong! It's called the only time they would be called heroes if they had done the job they were paid to do and that is to rescue them anything short is failure! I know three people died trying to rescue them, well guess what all the miners are going too die too! I call it a pathetic attempt at getting too them who cares if the mountain is unstable who cares you go for it! You leave everything out there and you rescue them no matter what!

Out of everyone who has come and gone from the R&S community, who do you miss the most?

And who would you like to see make a comeback?

To keep it in category, what religion (or lack thereof) are you?

why would he allow me to live through rheumatic fever at age 11, when (in theory) he knew I'd grow-up to be an atheist? If I had died then, while I was still a christian, I'd be heaven right now, right? But instead it was his plan for me to live and turn into an atheist, so I can instead go to hell. I guess he wanted to give my seat to someone else, huh? Can you explain zat?

My husband and I are considering moving into an active adult community once my mother passes away. We live out in the middle of nowhere right now to be near her, but we are very socialble. Plus, we have too much yardwork to do and are really tired of fighting a constant battle with it!

In honor of Red Queen and so many others on here who have seen good people either get deleted accounts or decide they can no longer tolerate the treatment on this forum.

I think that there has to be a fine line between freedom of expression and freedom from harrassment on here. People get offended and we truly use this forum as an example of the Cat-kicking world (someone gets us angry and we take it out on the next person and it spreads, ultimately to kicking the cat who never did anything to incur the anger).

So, I'm wondering if those of us who are regulars should set up our own code of conduct? If so, what can we do to eliminate the hurt feelings and the resulting excessive account deletions?

I'm not suggesting having a "R&S squad" that decides right and wrong, instead I'm suggesting voluntary standards we all agree to, so we can enjoy being here.

Your thoughts?
