In order to defeat racial tension in society, just become friends with someone outside your race/comfort zone.
If enough of us did this we'd be all set.

its a good thought but we as a society will not be able to get over it until we stop talking about it. what i mean is everytime somehting doesnt go a persons way whether they are black white brown or yellow they claim it is a matter of race that has kept them from their success. attitudes like that only piss off the other races. we live in a society that has a sense of entitlement certain people feel like they deserve something for nothing. i think the best thing we can do as individuals is to treat people how you want to be treated and hope that each person you come in contact with is changed by your attitude and applies it to their lives. it will take lots of time but time is all we have anyway. and even if we somehow manage to get over race im sure we will find some other way to compartmentalise people. we are human its what we do we have to have put people in a box with a label on it

I think everyone has accept the reality that were' all here and we have to live with each other and be adults about it. this also means though that the black people have to learn to let go of it, what happened in the past happened already, i think's thats a big part of the problem, that there's a lot of african americans that keep bringing it up and refuse to let it be. these are the same ones that always bring up racism all the time, the ones that scream racism for every conflict even when alot of times race is not even the issue. they attribute every problem to racism, those people contribute more to racism than to stoppin it, whether they realize it or not. they hold everybody back, they are their own biggest setback.

I believe if people adopted the racial integration of California, with races varying from nearly every single country in the entire world, people would be better off. I also think that if Californians adopted Wyoming's traditional style of using prayers at Rodeos, Sporting events, and outdoor activites... maybe we could prevent the arrogant atheism epidemic that has been wrought all over liberal California.

It is so much easier to blame racial tension than to take responsibility for your own actions, or lack thereof. Anti-anything is usually brought about by those on the receiving end of the discrimination. Demanding respect does not work, for a homosexual, female, black, hispanic, white, or anyone else. It needs to be earned.

Sometimes we fall into the habit of "pairing" race (or ethnicity) and a----e. There is a popular beverage-soda which claims to be the combination of 23 flavors (burgundy can). We can use their trademark song in parody: "They're all a----s, we're all a----s. Wouldn't you like to be an a----e too?!" Obviously, this parody claims that every person is a negative something; but, it also suggests that you're not accepting responsibility. Perhaps, a lack of responsibility is creeping into your daily routine. A place like Yahoo! Answers is going to pommel you with racism (or some similar philosophy like that).

Just ignore it! Stop acting like there IS a difference. But there are times when being ID'd by race is very helpful. When you call the police and say hey! Some jackazz just stole my car! Telling them uhh, some guy in a blue tee-shirt is not very helpful. To that extent I think it will never end. But in regards to how we all deal with each other in life...just stop acting like there's a difference, and eventually there won't be.

its grass roots and you have to pay attention to what i am doing in Klamath Falls Oregon . i asked myself the same question , had no answer , so decided to play it by ear and see what happens . believe it or not , i am making a difference , but , as you know , these types of endeavors need perserverance so it is not something that can be shown as resultive , like , right away . until the day that racism is obsolete though i will remain one to insure that i know one . see what i mean ??
