I just found out it is on Good Friday. It is a day of fasting and remembering of when Jesus died on the cross for us.

Just celebrate you birthday the day before or the day after. In that way you will enjoy and feel good about Good Friday!

You should 'postpone' your celebration to the weekend AFTER 'Easter' next year ... because Good Friday is during 'Holy Week' and is a 'somber day' ... and that needs to be 'celebrated properly' EVERY YEAR ... while a 'birthday celebration' can be before (unfortunately, that's during Lent, which is also a 'time of fasting') or after by as much as a week or more. Then you should have the 'celebration' you really WANT without having to feel you are giving 'short shrift' to Jesus's death on the cross.

When everyone plans a surprise party for you, buys you a lot of presents, and waits for you to come in and blow out the candles on your cake, make them feel horrible, explain what day it is, refuse to eat anything, and ask everyone to take the presents that they would have given you, and give them to good will. Tell them also that if they have the kind of money and time to plan you a birthday party, they should be spending it volunteering at a homeless shelter.

Then become homeless yourself, visit the homeless shelter, and retrieve all your presents and birthday cake, guilt free :D

Lets see...

"Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (Jesus, Matt 12:40)

Friday night
Saturday day
Saturday night
Sunday morning

That's just 2 days and 2 nights!

Somebody's not telling the truth.

You could have a party game where someone is put on a cross blindfolded. Then the other party members take turns poking that person in the side with a toy spear. Each time, the person on the cross tries to guess who it is. When they guess correctly, that person becomes "it" and has to go up on the cross.

I'd say party as usual. But if that interferes with your religious sensibilities, then just postpone your b'day a week till the next Fri.

Then have a blast!

You want to celebrate your own life and your own identity, on a day which you believe is for observing somebody's sacrifice? Sounds like a big conflict of interest.
