It probably happens all the time.
The same with believers: if they're mature thinkers, then they are constantly taking in new information and sifting it around, comparing to what they already know, and testing it for truth.
That would mean constantly being open to the fact that "the other side" might be right. The more mature do this all the time.
But YA is not limited to the mature of mind. Lots of people on both sides of the issue come to YA with completely closed minds. This is because they're afraid of questioning. They're afraid of questioning because they know their belief system can't stand the scrutiny.
But I enjoy reading about other people's points of view and try to intelligently think about the points that people make, even if they go against what I believe.

I can understand why atheists have a hard time believing as well. But if you think about all these different animals and insects and all these living these on this planet that there has to be a GOD.People might lose people they love and fell discourge but its god's will that these thing happen.Something you just can't understand why they happen until you meet the creator.

I have always said, "maybe he is real." I have just seen no evidence to suggest to me that he is real. I'd be dumb to say that it's impossible. Just highly implausible. On the other hand, there is a great deal of evidence to suggest that many of the scientific explanations for such things as the beginnings of the universe and the ascension of the species are highly plausible. So I look to science for answers because there is some evidence to look at. I'd gladly look at some real evidence for god. But nobody seems to be able to come up with any. Ever.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on whether that person ran out of people to count on. People always think that someone or something is either watching them or able to be there for absolutely everything. Not all people, just the religious followers.
I know I haven't ever thought this.

Yes I have. That is why I am an atheist. Every time I consider this I am forced into concluding with a contradictiory and impossible god.
Have you ever stoped how you think to consider the possibility that all you have is a fear of death and non-existence?

We have a hard time believing when there is no evidence. A fact doesn't require belief or not. Evidence and facts remove the personal "belief" factor from the picture. As a matter of fact, why don't you believe in Zeus or Athena?

Yes, I take a good long skeptical look at my atheism for time to time. Now happens to be one of those times that might see me change my mind about what I believe. But, I'm not promiseing anything.

You mean an atheist who converted to a religion that includes the belief in deities? I have no doubt. People convert from one religion (or lack of in this case) to another all the time.

Atheists have usually already thought about that before the point they decided to be an atheist.
