It is important to me as a Christian and a person who lives on this planet to preserve it for the generations to come. I do what I can on a personal level to not pollute, use plastics and to recycle.

The Judeo-Christian ethic states that humans are somehow worth more than other creatures, plants and rocks on the planet. It also assumes that the Earth was made by God for the use of humans.
Additionally, Christianity teaches that the entire Earth will be swept away by the Second Coming, and that destruction of the environment, wars, and strife are to be welcomed as signs of this impending doom for all who are not Christian.
I'd say we have today's global warming largely due to Christianity. Destruction of the environment is handily excused by the bible.
It's awful, immoral, and totally inexcusable, in my opinion.

All of your liberal friends need to understand the Christian concept of stewardship and accountability.
There's a parable in Mark 12:
1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
• • •
8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the avineyard unto others.
God planted this garden eastward in Eden and asked us to take good care of it. If you cannot prove yourself a good steward, then why should God give you a greater responsibility?
Now as to your understood premise that we aren't doing enough: God also gave us agency. If you try to force others to take care of the environment, that's tantamount to forcing your religious beliefs on them, because most people don't understand the stewardship over the earth and what God expects because they either don't care to know or don't know where to look. Forcing observance is tyranny...that is the plan Satan proposed, "I will force them to live righteously. They won't have to choose; not one we will lose, and give all the glory to ME!"
If you're doing this for glory, you're as evil as the Great Deceiver. Weigh the motivations for the things you do; the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Earthy: is the other wise, the 2nd, IMPure, of
two wisdoms compared in James 3:15 & 17.
It(Law) is also called sense-u-all and devil-ish.
Falling, short, it is plan B: Bondage, of Law.
Plan A: Approved unto God, is Grace only.
Of things created and made,
by a Creator and a Maker:
Created is what's IMPerfect;
Made should be made perfect,
as Christ is the end of the law;
Not made one proselyte by law.
For one proselyte is twofold:
more the CHILD of hell(law).
Only plausible thing to do is:
flush all "law worketh wrath",
for "my grace is sufficient".
(no law at all is required)
Or else: ye may bend over and
dble kiss divided @ss bye bye,
for being sow dog done law law.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus-->Christ with you-->all. Amen.

I feel God gave the earth to man to have dominion over. To work it and till it and care for it.
I believe the rape of the earth by men for their own lustful purposes cries out to God for judgment. I believe if even the clothes on your back were given voice they would cry out to God for being made to cover the likes of a generation who does not give honor and glory to the creator of all things.
People think that Sodom and Gomorrah were judged due to homosexuality. I tell you that homosexuality was a prejudgment on a city that had no charity. They used all to their own lustful gain. The earth itself cried out to God for judgment. It was not due to homosexuality, for that was only an symptom of a perverse society whose lasciviousness, drunkenness, and covertness demanded punishment.
And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
So you see, the earth itself cried out to God.
Hey, you asked.

God gave us dominion over the world and all the animals. That means we are to care for it, treat and use it wisely.
God can't stand waste fullness or for one to have a lack of compassion for animal kinds of any sort.
Now, that doesn't mean man may not wear fur, but he is not to kill everything in sight for his enjoyment either. Another interesting point:
When God created Adam the only job He gave him was to name the animals. Back then you didn't "name" something until you got to know it, study its nature. So, the first job God gave man was be become a zoologist!

God gave mankind the responsability of being His stewards of the bounty He provided on this Earth... Mankind has done a lousy Job of stewardship... as the "envirionment" is the wrapper that contains the bounty I think it should be kept in good condition.

The same as those non Christians who want to protect the environment, what does religion have anything to do with wanting a better world, safer and not self destruction.

I feel we should protect all of Gods gifts. I am not sure I would go as far as to panic over global warming and other things the scientists are thowing up at us but we need to take care of our planet and know that whatever happens to it is in Gods plan.
