The church by my house has this saying on it,

"It's hard to stumble when you are already on your knees,"

Am I the only one who catches the sexual connotation in this?

A lot of churches do this in my area. My church refuses to do it, and I've talked to more than one parishioner who finds "cute" church signs undignified. They argue that it reduces one's faith to a bumper sticker slogan. We do have a church sign, but it simply announces services and upcoming events, with no clever commentary necessary. I've noticed that (at least locally), I've never seen the Episcopalians or Unitarians putting "cheesy" messages on their signs, either. It seems to mostly be a Fundamentalist thing.

Do you remember when at-one-ment was all the rage? I think they have an Insta-Wisdom machine to generate these things. Just add puns.

Subliminal innuendo only comes with the Deluxe version.

Baptists love this stuff. I could be snide and say it's because they are more prone to believe a billboard than an educated person, but I won't.

It's the corporate mentality - it's reached our churches, as if they weren't struggling enough as it is.

Now they have:

Vision Statements
Core values
Mission Statements
etc.

Now catchy marketing slogans. This is capitalism gone awry! ;)

No, you're not the only one.
And a few churches in my town do the same thing. It's quite entertaining actually.

One said, "Got jesus? It's hell without him."

Yeah, most signs are pretty cheesy. . .every once in a while I will see a good one, but most of the time they just make me shake my head.

Ch_ _ ch. . .what is missing ur. lol

This means it is hard to fall into sin when you are already repenting asking the Lord's forgiveness- which we all need to do!
Without the Lord, we will always stumble. But when it says "on your knees" it means praying on your knees, seeking God's forgivness. Some pray standing up, sitting down- there is not a required way to pray when you are seeking God's forgiveness, as long as it is from your heart which only HE knows.
But many do wan to fall on their knees in prayer, when they realize that they are a sinner and need His forgiveness.
