It's said, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear". This implies nobody needs to position themselves as a teacher, but rather to prepare oneself as a student. As a student, one inevitably teaches. Concepts are discussed, various behaviors are tried out on others, boundaries of awareness are explored. It all happens in relationship with other.

It's also said, "What you resist, persists", which implies we draw situations to us for our learning. There's also the concept of "lessons" being given to us, which is another way of looking at the same process. Could it be that this is how "the teacher appears"? Are we not simply mirrors for each other, teaching as an inevitable consequence of our learning? When we forget that we are students first, do the lessons perhaps become more difficult?

I am a 17 year old girl and currently a senior of the 2007-2008 school year. Next year I wish to go to college and pursue a job in Journalism but I have no money. I applied for a scholarship (I'm in the final 10 finalists!) and I need votes so if you could please read my essay and possibly vote for it or encourage others to then it would be VERY appreciated. There are also 9 other great finalists if you wish to look at theirs too.

Here's the link to my essay: http://collegetoolkit.com/ScholarshipContest/Finalists/Vote/ashummz05.aspx

If that doesn't work go to collegetoolkit.com and my personal finalist name is ashummz05, however there are 9 others also. :-)

You register, vote, and then do the email confirmation for it to count. This may only take a moment of your time, but it will be a huge part in my life.
Thankyou all.

My email address is ashummz05@yahoo.com if you have ANY questions.

Believe me we don't have to. One angel, with the jaw bone of a donkey, wiped out thousands in one night. God holds all of creation together right now. We have the command to tell others about Jesus and God's teachings from the Bible. But we do not have to defend Him.

I've heard stories of people having near death experiances such as commas and then when they came back to life they said they were in heaven or hell. How do you think these places look like from a creative point of view. What do you think the devil himself looks like and how God looks like?!

Have you ever met somone who had a near death experiance?

They can't all be true, can they?

So, of all denominations that claim Jesus, most are false -- and which are which?

That's right, I'm asking you to tell me the true ones and the false ones.

If so, what things do you do to spread your faith?

What sorts of reactions do you get from people in general, and pagans in particular, when you try to bring others to Christianity?

What would you do if a person of another faith tried to bring their faith to you?

This seems to be a playground for young punks to get their kicks at someone elses' expense. If someone has a real question, whether or not it might seem a dumb one, they still deserve respect. Our youth of today somehow missed out on that. I have a teenage daughter, so I know. I do not tolerate rudeness. If you can not say it nicely, don't say it at all. What makes you think anyone cares what you have to say anyway? Once they hear constant garbage coming out of your mouth...they will quit listening anyway. Maybe not your :"friends" who have the same warped mentality as you, but certainly everyone else on this planet. You kids want respect? Earn it and share it. That is how you get respect. There are a lot of young people on here that need some guidance and have no one else to turn to for support. This is the excellent forum for them, because they can be anonymous. Suicide rates are high for young teens because they bottle it all up. I would hope this group can help them.

You hear of "miraculous" healing with regard to other things, but why not amputees? Does he hate amputees? No matter how hard they pray, they do not grow back a new arm or leg. Why?

Did you pray a prayer one time and still live like you have never received a command? Do you have faith in that prayer you prayed? We are suppose to put our faith in God. If you truely believe in something your actions will follow. I know what you are thinking. You are thinking I am judging you. The Bible says the word of God judges us. So i will show you some verses and let God's words do its work.
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! James 2:19
But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:20
They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. Titus 1:16
Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."
All i am trying to show you is what the Bile says.
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. 2 Cor. 13:5

Church going Christians are activle encouraged to be aware of the suffering of other people and to contribute their money, time and effort in charitable works. Where as atheists can do their own thing and turn a blind eye to the worlds suffering.

If so, it would be it's own source?
Does the Source of time and space exist in time/space?
If thought takes time (it does) how could something that doesn't exist in time, think?
If God doesn't think, how could it have an intention, purpose or plan?
If there is no plan.....is anybody running the show?

My husband and I are overdue on giving a wedding gift to our friends who got married about 14 months ago. Its actually my husband's friends so I was hoping he would take care of it but he never did, so now I am before it gets any longer. Obviously we are quite embarassed but I don't think we should necessiarily focus on that in the card, but rather still congratulate them. Perhaps say that we still fondly remember their wedding day?? We will not be delivering the gift in person, it will be mailed, and I would like to keep the card somewhat brief. How should we handle this situation? And, what should we say in the card? Thanks for your help!!
