The only thing I do is live my life as honorably as I possibly can. If others see in me a light they do not see in others, and ask me about it, I will tell them about my journey and where it brought me. I do not specifically encourage belief in Jesus or any other name of Source. I encourage faith in oneself and how that can lead to faith in Source. In this regard, I get very positive responses because I am not trying to shove Jesus and the Bible down anyone's throat. That is most offensive and would turn people away rather than warm them with the love that we should be expressing.
If another person spoke to me of their faith, conversationally, without intent to convert, I would welcome the discussion. I am always curious to know what others believe, because chances are we believe the same basic tenets (and this includes Atheists). If the person is intent on converting me to their beliefs (which has happened via email through this forum), I simply thank them for their words, let them know that we have different perceptions, wish them well, and be on my merry way.
Take this answer for what you will, but bear in mind that I am not your average Christian. My faith moves well beyond basic teachings of Christianity.
(((unity and oneness)))

I had this SHOVED DOWN MY THROAT from the Southern Baptists. They wanted everyone to be an evangelist, without having taken the time to make certain people knew what they were talking about. All they wanted was growth, growth, growth! MORE people in the pews, MORE!
Having gotten that off my chest, I would only like to say that we must do the right thing for the right reasons.
Reactions are varied. If they clearly do not wish to hear anything, I do not push it at all. I refuse to. If they do show interest, I answer whatever questuions they may have that I can answer. I leave it up to them to think things through for themselves, and not try to do their thinking for them.
If someone tries to bring their faith to me, I listen with an open mind, but a discerning heart. There is more to a person than their beliefs.
To answer your question, yes.All I can do is sow. Sometimes water. What no one seems to remember, is that it is God that causes the increase, it is God that builds His church.

Let's answer you last question first.....Apparently you aren't aware of how the Jehovah's Witness get around....They come to my door a lot....I just tell them, I am not interested because I am a Pentecostal...that scares the bejebbies out of them..they think we are of the Devil.....if we speak in tongues....Works for me....
I try to spread a little cheer where ever I go and hope that my life reflects the things I believe to those I know. To others I don't know, I do try to tell them about Jesus but most don't won't to listen. I can only do my best. Being rather stricken down for the moment, I can only spread the word on Internet sites....and answer questions on this site, to the best of my ability.
Who knows how people take it on here. I think some are serious,,,and really are looking for answers,,but they have to wade through all the stuff the atheists put in their path to get there. Why an atheist is so determined to put down a God they don't believe exist is a mystery, isn't it?

I do not preach. I let my light shine through the way that I live and the way that I treat others. IF I am asked, I verbally share my faith.
Actions speak louder than words.
Christians who come on too trong with fire and brimestone are doing more harm than good.
If a person of another faith starts preaching to me, I thank them for their interest but let them know I am not interested.
I would hope others would do the same to me if I started preaching.
I do not answer the door if a Jehovah's Witness or a Mormon comes by.

Jesus came here to fix the Jewish religion (Matt. 5) and let others join. It was alright at first. But in other areas cults were being made up even then. But all of them are gone now.
The religions we have today are all taking their preferred parts of the Bible and leaving the rest alone.
Also many are obsessed with the King James Bible, that Catholic King James ordered to be made wrong in hundreds of places. Like it has "unicorns" in it.
If there is a religion today that is following ALL of the Bible. Looking only for the whole truth; I know not who, what, or where, it is. I know Roger Williams, who founded the state of R.I., tried to start such a religion; but no one was willing to put in all the effort needed.
I do try to get others to see the truth and realize God is God, Jesus is Jesus.

I answer questions and try to live a life of love unconditional, without judgment. If they aren't interested I pay attention to them, to understand them. It's more important to understand than to be understood. If I know I'll have trouble being what God intends I try to avoid people. Flesh is weak and it's hard to be spiritual if your cloths are on fire for example. We all have bad days.
People seeking to convert people are by nature adversarial. No one comes to God unless God calls them and even if they come to God while speaking with me the blessing is from God, all I get is the joy of seeing it. I'm unnecessary in the process of things.
EDIT: Modern religion reflects modern values. Corporations only worry about growth, churches only worry about growth.
The single largest misunderstanding concerns judgment.
Judgment's been here since Adam felt naked. God does not judge. When we judge people that judgment is applied immediately on us. We condemn ourselves by our own judgment of others for they are all part of us. We condemn in others what is a negative reflection of ourselves.

Biblically, he only directed them to preach to the Jews.
Early Catholics had to manufacture a new class of people, Gentiles, from the Latin Gentes (Nations) but if you READ the Bible with open eyes, you see that gentes means the Nations of Israel..... Jews.
Not that the Jews deserve to be badgered, but the Bible says nothing about bthe rest of us.

All the denominations do it. Jesus is the leader of a hundred denominations, and they are all trying to cram their belief down other people's throats.

NO, I don't do that...I never have...I don't believe in "pushing" my beliefs on others...
If they want to know something I will tell them what I know..but I do NOT go out of my way to do it...I believe everyone is entitled to believe what they want...and it is NOT up to me to change anyone by shoving Christianity down their throats...
