The Clowns that stood on the stages and made thier Leaders look like fools. And like it was funny to take it up the butt? And their lives were nothing but a Big Joke?
And the people became cynical and apathetic, and LET their Nations go to hell?
I think my boys previous question was bassackwards. We take things far to LIGHTLY!

For me, Worship was awesome. The message was on the power a follower of Jesus now has while living in the Kingdom of God. We had 2 people give their lives to Jesus and 4 others received the baptism in the Holt Spirit.

How was your gathering?

It appears that the wrong person is being lifted up more so and higher than the only One who is worthy to receive glory, the only One who took your place, the only One found worthy to open the seals and the only One who is the mediator between God and man.

First time at a Lutheran service. Everyone took communion. I didn't. What's the protocol for that? I'm not baptized or Lutheran.
Husband was baptized Catholic- can he take communion?
What do I do next Sunday?
Thanks for insight.

Hi all,

I'm posting this q. after almost losing hope. I'm definately not an atheist but I'm finding it very hard, personally and theologically, to find a religion I can connect with because they all seem to be based on belief that life is mainly suffering, and we're set to go somewhere much better when we die (or worse, if we aren't religious, etc!).

So, I believe in reincarnation and I don't think this ever ends, but I kinda also think this is as good as it gets! To me, believing in going to an improved world when you die just seems unrealistic, I can only imagine that place would be really unemotional and uninvolved, it just seems like something to believe if you're fed up of this life.

I'll stop rambling now! My question is, are there any religions that I haven't found yet that don't think like this? Something that maybe thinks this world is good enough, and that we always come back/reincarnate here?

Thanks a lot!

Religion is very confusing to me since I never grew up with any understanding of where I came from. My mother is Jewish, my father is Catholic. I chose to go Methodist for my children since I liked the Pastor plus I was also not accepted many places. I have since moved although I was not very active in the church after my children were baptized. But I would like my children to start learning about religion by going to sunday school. I would also like to learn with them. I find myself once again confused on which way to go with this. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you for your time.

I'm not sure if I believe or not but I have had some strange experiences and I don't know what they were.

I like hearing ghost stories and I like hearing the reasons why people have felt or seen/heard what they did.

Open to all opinions!

That's my question. I mean, if Judism was Jesus Christ's supposed religion, how come people who call themselves Christians aren't Jewish instead. And it's funny, because Christians are always telling everyone that Jesus Christ was Jewish anyways. There sure ain't any logic in that concept, now is there?

We have friends who have had us over to their house for dinner several times. However, their daughter is very allergic to our pets and the one time we had them over for dinner got ill. We have taken them out to eat, but don't feel we are responding with the proper courtesy. What is the best way to handle this??

Do you feel the best of people in this life are the ones that’s had it the hardest?

I’ve noticed the down and outs of this world are the most compassionate while the haves seem to be full of hate. I feel if there is a hell it’s to help put us all on the same page, throw the ones that don’t know what suffering is in hell for a period of time so that they may learn and emerge a better person.

I find this both insulting and narrow minded. Even more baffling is that those that make these assumptions seem to be from the non religious side.

I just answered a question on swearing and it got me thinking. A lot of people do believe that swearing signals a lack of intelligence or an underdeveloped vocabulary; they can't think of any other word etc etc.

I would argue that a person being able to use a wide variety of cusswords appropriate and effective to a given situation is in fact showing a larger vocabulary than people who refuse to use any such word.

I am an English teacher and as such, am expected to know and use lots of words, and even explain what they mean (and yes, I have lost count of the amount of times I have been asked to define buggery and cunnilingus by spotty teenage boys and girls).

I realise that there are times and places when swearing isn't the right thing to do, but equally, there are times when nothing else will do. So, if you think only stupid people swear, could you please explain why so I can try to understand?

We should be able to try to undertand other peoples points of view, religious or philosophical, without malice. This could be a great tool for asking questions without a malicious intent and to answer questions objectively. Why try to damage a person's faith? Why try to convert an Atheist? Why not try to understand Islam (there are lots of popular books) and then you can ask intelligent questions about the faith? The same goes for Christianity, Judaism or any other faith. This forum could be a good tool for peace and understanding.

then surely it is proof that the plagiaries of Judaism, Christianity and Islam are NOT the truth?

As "the oldest of the revealed credal religions," Zoroastrianism "probably had more influence on mankind directly or indirectly, more than any other faith."
