I find this both insulting and narrow minded. Even more baffling is that those that make these assumptions seem to be from the non religious side.

As far as my previous question about charity, I do actually believe that Christian's are more charitable because of influence from their church. However, as someone answered this can be seen as an insult to Christians implying that the only reason they give to charity is because of their religion, which I also tend to believe, but neither view makes me a Christian or anti-christian. You can believe good things about something with out taking it on board as a life doctrine.

I've had the same experience... I'm a raging atheist, and have had people respond to my questions assuming I am a believer... lol
In this format, sometimes people assume too much...

I have checked some of your questions. In one question you ask for it:
I quote:
Christian's are more realistic about the world around them because of the amount of charity work they do?
Church going Christians are activle (sic) encouraged to be aware of the suffering of other people and to contribute their money, time and effort in charitable works. Where as atheists can do their own thing and turn a blind eye to the worlds (sic)suffering.
Unquote.
Except for the question mark, that is a statement, not a question. It is an insult for the thousands of peope who work in organisations aroud the world trying to help other people without trying to convert and to put their opinion first. If you would turn that "question" around and state that christians do their own thing and atheists take care of the problems, you might get reported by the religious police.
I do not think you had much reactions of the same order on your question:
I quote
How did you get your first bra?
Unquote.
I got mine by a miracle!
Have a nice day.

Without information to the contrary people will automatically make assumptions. It is a little unfair, insulting and narrow minded to except people to answer questions only in the terms you require. If you don't like the form the answers take, don't ask the questions

People will assume alot on here. If you ask a contradictory question to try and get some opinions, most answerers assume that your personal opinion is in the direction of the question.
For example. If I was to ask, why do you believe in God? There would be alot of answerers assuming that I dont believe in God.

I'm an atheist and have stopped asking questions on religion. Far too many people take the subject too seriously and spout off line after line of rubbish from the bible, kuran etc., its not worth the hassle!

When asking a question or sometimes answering a question....I always say I'm an Atheist.....so it's out there and no one has to assume.
More info from you......better chance of not being insulted.

It is a common misconception that this is the "Christian happy fun club" section of Y!A. Which is precisely the reason that the question "Why are Atheists here?" was added to the drinking game.

People do assume a lot from a simple question. They assume they know your religious and political views, your age, and whether or not your're "going to hell". LOL
Sending you a smile to help pick up your day.

Your 'questions' seem biased against atheists and in favor of Christianity. That would lead people the conclusion that you are a Christian, or at very least anti-Atheist.

They probably assume that you ask about things that you are involved in. Not infallible and plainly, in your case wrong, but a reasonable assumption, surely.
I am not religious, either. I am a Christian.
