You actually have that wrong. The Scripture is 1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
That is ok it is one of the most misquoted scriptures in the bible. The fact is that anytime you place anything before your love of G-d that is where the problem starts. It could be a car, hobby, another person. Anytime there is something in your life that is more important than G-d that is where the sin begins. Money used through a righteous man can go to fund the ministry, feed the poor, etc..

First: The Love of Money is the root of all evil. Second: Our money says 'In God we trust'. This is because there is no longer any backing for the money and the government wants a scape goat to fall back on.

Actually greed is the root of all evil. Greed for money, power, things, another's mate, etc. Many people greed money so I guess that is how that saying came about.
