OK. I need to calm down, but I thought that Taiwanese and Cantonese were two separate languages, or at least dialects, they aren't the SAME language, and then I was just talking with someone and they said Taiwanese=Cantonese, and I got all up in a fluster. I need someone to help me chill out quickly and promptly. Thank you all so much!

I realise that so many christians in America can barely fathom a world outside of their own community, never mind their nations borders.
There is a growing global discontent at the arrogance, self serving, ill informed, in denial, scientifically illiterate dialogue that America communicates to the rest of the world, and it is nearly always full of religious, particularly christian rhetoric..
"May god [selectively] bless America" etc

America is but a pup compared to the rest of the world, with fat creationists types being easily manipulated as a political power base, under the guise of "freedom" or "democracy".

The [religious] American military is considered a fumbling mass of badly trained, lower socio-economic cannon fodder, who are frighteningly consitant with "friendly fire" incidents, and no other countries like to work beside them.

The whole world views this with distaste, like they've just sucked on a lemon. Are christians, particularly creationists even aware of this?

I'm wiccan and sometimes I post questions about wicca and all Christian's that answer say wicca is devils work. is that just because the bible said that? Why don't they experience it before they judge it!

Something just occurred to me. Is trusting the allegedly God-inspired Bible to tell us the truth about God and Satan akin to trusting Fox News to tell the truth about an election?

(John Ellis, first cousin of President Bush, recommended the channel declare the first Bush victory before it was a fact. Which of course was the only way to do it, since he didn't technically win the election in the traditional sense)

I love talking to people who is pationate for God and his Son Jesus and who can encourage you when you are down. At the moment I have a hillsong cd on and I love ther music. For the record, Einstein did NOT believe in god..
There are NO fossil footprints showing humans and dinosaurs co existed.
Science is NOT a religion.
The many various and independant dating methods are NOT all flawed, and in fact they all corroborate each other.
Carbon dating does NOT describe any dates of millions of years ago.
Faith is NOT proof.
Evidence is NOT faith.
Science does NOT try to disprove the existance of god.
Mainstream scientific principles, understandings and descriptions of the natural world do NOT consider or speak of any religion.
A "scientific theory" IS different from a "guessing theory", and scientists do NOT express reservations about its truth when discussing ANY "scientific theory".
America was NOT founded on christianity, far from it.
There are MANY different transitional fossils of many species, including human evolution.

There is so much more reality for the christians, particularly creationists, to deny or misrepresent, but why..?

Christians and muslims are dumb because they base their belief on faith, which means, do not question , just follow what is written in the book . The church and mullahs has to say that because otherwise, the Bible or the koran becomes a crock, with many inconsistencies and many things that simply do not make sense.

So they stay dumb and traditional for another couple of years?

To know two languages properly, like you have lived in another country for 5 years or more and really gone into the nations culture deeply. You will find new perceptions, concepts of morality, justice, God etc... will come to you. Like math is a language it opens up our mind to more concept so therefore is it possible that language could be to blame for why some cultures are not as advanced as others? English is highly accurate and flexible but others like Italian are highly emotional. The English excel at scientific and business thought, Italians excel in art, culture music. Without language we cannot form concept and without concept we cannot form language. Yet all thinking is the grouping, catagorising and analysis of concept. So is language to blame? What do you think?
