They don't know any better, they just call everything (other than Christianity) the devil.

As a Christian, I don't know anything about Wicca, except that my cousin's girlfriend is a Wiccan.
From my stance, I believe people should worship whatever and whoever they want, so do as you please.
I think the vast majority of Christianity believes that Wicca is wrong because any sort of healing, or divination, or blessing, is a Priestly (man called by God) ordination and duty. When anyone claims to do this rite, it is an abomination because it gives the impression that man has the power that God has, or that man has more power than God. Anything that is a sacred rite, is considered as a Heavenly action attributed to God, when man takes claim of it, and does not attribute it to God, it is wrong. Even if a priest claims he alone healed somebody, and not the power of God, it is wrong.
I hope that clarifies why most Christians think that about Wicca/Wiccans.

I am sorry to say it, but many christians feel that anything that is not part of their beliefs is of the devil. This partly comes directly from the bible in certain sections, and even worse that some of these sections of the bible are widely disputed as to the validity of them. To them, any beliefs, or any practices, that does not come directly from the bible, even other biblical related texts that are not directly part of the bible such as the Apogrypha are of satan. I think a lot of this histeria come from the middle ages and has continued on until today, as the idea of anyone who does not have Jesus will go to hell did not even exist until somewhere around the 1100's AD or after. Durring periods of famine and plague durring the middle ages, people were turning away from a church who could not help them, so the concept of "if you do not do this, you are going to burn in a firery pit" was invented to coerce people back to the catholic church. Older judaical beliefs did not have this concept.
Truly, I feel very strongly that everyone should worry about their own spirituality, their own beliefs, and their own soul, and let other people to believe as they will. I have no problem with Christian beliefs, and if it is spiritual to them, I am happy for them, but I do not think that should be an excuse to force it on other people. This is especially true of certain people on this forum that answer or email people with things like "you worship satan and you are going to hell" Its filled with hatred, which is far from the message Jesus tried to tell people. Jesus's message was one of peace and understanding of people, not hatred just because some do not think the same things that they do. I wish more people would realise this. There are, always have been, and always will be religious beliefs that are not Abrahamic in origin or basis, and they need to understand that. I know there are many Christians who are like that, who are peaceful and do not push their religion on others, and I am happy for them. I just wish all people would learn to let others live in peace with their own beliefs instead of attacking them just because they do not share the same spirituality.
As an additional comment to some of the things said about your question, the word "witch" was never in the bible, as it had not even been invented until somewhere into the middle ages. The term used in Exodus 22:18 is the a rendering of the term mekhashshepheh which is a form of persian sorceress said to make pacts with jinn and demons, the same with Deuteronomy, having nothing to so with Wicca or modern witchcraft. Wicca is also a religion, witchcraft is a practice of magick, the two are not synonomous, not all witches are Wiccan and not all Wiccans are witches, but some are. Romans is also one of the most highly disputed books of the bible, its validity challenged because of the age of it, portions of the book do not predate the 4th century. Lastly, the King James version of the bible is one of the most disputed version, that version alone removed more than 20 different sections to the bible, added a couple, and changed the wording to suit the socio-political situation in europe at the time. Its the main reason the roman church did not endorse it, James and his people made changes to the roman version of it.
I wish others would just let people to have their own beliefs, and be happy with theirs. There is no point to attacking other people just because they do not beleive what they do.

Personally I think that it is a false religion but I think that about anything aside from Christianity.. nothing personal.. However on this site I have only met one mean Wiccan..the rest have been delightful and kind. I may not agree with your beliefs, but I sure do like most of you.... I think a lot of people associate Wicca as being the same as Devil Worship because they do not discern between various Pagan religions....I do not need to experience it to know it is not for me.. But I do know that most Wiccans have a great deal of reverence for nature and our environment and I do respect that a lot... Don't judge us all based on a few people who want to condemn people rather than share the love of Christ and the people who Claim to be Christians who don't realize we are not Christians so that we have a get out of Hell free card, but because of the personal relationship we have with the Lord...big difference ..So Blessed Be to you.. I personally will consider that a Blessing from my God to you... but you take it how ever you like =) as long as you take it kindly...

There are alot of false gods and religions out there, and wicca is one of them, I beleive you love God, however, the Bible says he is a "Jealous God" he wants all our praise worship and attention, and true christians don't want to experience anything other then God and his Word, because we already have been taught thru the Word, that any thing else is false, and idol worship.

Christians were told centuries ago, when the young church was trying to convert the country to its new religion, that witches were the devil's spawn and anyone who was caught practicing witchcraft would be hanged or, in America, burned at the stake. The 'Christians' then went on to do just that. Trouble is they didn't know what they were doing then and they still don't know now - because someone told them witches were evil so it must be true! Finding out the truth about witches might damage centuries of ignorance and as we all know, ignorance is bliss.

Hmmmmmmmm
The Bible does speak out against witchcraft.
The Bible is God's Word, the final authority.
That is why we don't want to experience it
"just because the Bible says that" as you say.
Do you know Jesus?

I met a wiccan once, he was a very great guy. He said that I had a great aurora about me. Most Christians tend to judge, but do not judge or you will be judged. They might want to share their beliefs but not know how. The bible says to love one another. Not to judge one another.

The Bible strictly and directly tells us that we are not to be involved in witchcraft.
We are to trust Jesus, all else is evil.
Rest assured that we are praying for you.
Jesus is Lord.
