Because God is in my life I make a choice not to be confrontational. It is an effort, due to the fact I like the rush of confrontation. I do my best to respect others. I think I am a good person, and I do feel God motivated. Yes, I have thought about this, especially every time I bite my tongue.
Peace be with you.

that must be an old picture of you and your wife. well anyhow i am polite and kind but when i need to stick up for something i believe in i do. you can not avoid confrontation some people avoid it at all cost some go over board and flip out and act like nut cases and some handle it in very well. Confrontation is part of life you just gotta know how to deal with it in a proper manner.

Most of our behavior is behavior that has been conditioned by our society. Society praises what I call the social graces and we all love to be praised. Society punishes bad behavior and we all fear punishment. We get practical benefits also from our social graces because when people like us, they tend to trust us and trust brings opportunity.

But this behavior conditioning is paper thin. When the circumstances change, our good behavior can rapidly deteriorate.

So if being good is defined as doing the right thing for no reward nor threat of punishment, then I don't know that any of us are good, God inspired or not.

But we love to think ourselves as good because that is a most pleasant thought. I understand that even criminals plotting their next crime think of themselves as basically good.

"Good" is a matter of opinion, but whatever I am I am by choice, God has nothing to do with it. And I fail to see how someone can be "good" and self serving at the same time, some how self serving doesn't fit into my idea of a good person. In my opinion I am a good person, but like I said thats just my opinion.

I try to be nice and polite because I know that is what God expects from me as his daughter.
Before I met God, I was neither polite, nor was I nice!!!

Personally I find that a lot of people who have god in their lives fall under both categories

I am kind and polite by choice, God has nothing to do with it. In my mind I am "good", but "good' is subjective and relative to each individual...you may not choose to perceive me as "good"...but that really doesn't matter.
