Many today do not realize that the knowledge of the true God and true Christianity, which Paul brought to Greece and Rome, was soon corrupted with a mixture of pagan religious ideas. As Roman Catholic historian Will Durant writes: "Christianity did not destroy paganism; it adopted it." The form of Christianity that developed in Europe and later spread to America and the rest of the world "was the last great creation of the ancient pagan world" (Caesar and Christ, Durant, 1944, p. 595). Durant and other historians explain that belief in the one true God became belief in a Trinity as a result of the influence of pagan philosophy. They note that perverted Gnostic ideas "obscured the Christian creed" and that theologians schooled in pagan philosophy tried to explain the nature of God through speculation instead of teaching what God had revealed about Himself in Scripture. After centuries of such discussion and debate,

so why is Jesus the only God you seem to persecute? What about Allah...Budah...Christna? All I hear is you speaking agaisnt Christianity. This could only mean one thing...atheism is infact built around hate...or Jesus is the one and true God and you are being used to pull that truth from others. I mean...if you want proof...look at atheist comments on here and around the world. All they ever talk about is the Christian beliefs and Jesus!?!

It is every where,
all at once.
Round and bright,
I claim it as a family crest.
O` sons and daughters,
of a noble family,
what do you claim?
Claim what is yours,
give up the things,
that must be paid for,
with your freedom.
See with your own eyes,
hear with your own ears,
and taste with your own mouth.
Beautiful, you are,
and finally the silence is heard,
and the sweetness;
is almost to much,
almost.
**********
Fortunate ones, how does the rising and falling of life look from where your at?
Thank you and please remember I'm only a coyote.

Depending on your answer, please explain why or why not. I do not want "because it's just this way" or "God has done so much for me"... But real, undisputable facts that you have taken into account to make or break your faith or lack of such.

In 325 (nearly 300 years after Christ's death and resurrection), Constantine the first held the Council of Nicea where the council determined (in an attempt to understand GOD) that Christ was GOD, and that Christ was one third of a triune god.
According to the trinity doctrine, "Within the one being that God is, there exists eternally three co-equal and co-eternal persons, namely the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit."
Trinity
It is said in the First Epistle of John 5:7-8: “For there are three that bear record in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.

Answer
That is in The King James Version, authorized in 1611, and formed the strongest evidence for the doctrine of the Trinity. But now this part, “the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one,” has been expunged in The Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 and in many other Bibles, as it was a gloss that had encroached on the Greek text.

I John 5:7-8 in The New American Standard Bible says: “And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness, the Spirit and the water, and the blood, and the three are in agreement.” Also, in The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, used by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, you will find: “For there are three witness bearers: the spirit, and the water, and the blood, and the three are in agreement.” I can understand if you don’t know that this important part has been removed, but I wonder why many ministers and preachers are not aware of this.
Can you find ANY scripture that says God is composed of three co-equal persons? Not one. How could there be when Jesus said at John 14:28: "The Father is greater than I am."

To show how some people have been fooled to believe in the trinity, the following scriptures have been submitted as trinity proofs: John 14:9; 1 Tim. 3:16; John 1:1-4; 20:24-29; John 8:58. Do these verses say ANYTHING about a God composed of three co-equal, co-eternal persons?

John 14:9: "He that has seen me has seen the Father." Do you see a trinity here? This verse only mentions TWO persons, not THREE. So where is the trinity here?

1 Tim. 3:16: "God manifested in the flesh." Where in that sentence does it say anything about a 3-in-one God? It doesn't.

John1:1-14. Too long to quote here, but again, these verses do NOT mention THREE persons. So where's the trinity?

John 8:58: "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" Do you see THREE co-equal persons in this verse? NO! So where is there evidence of the trinity here?

John 20:28: "My Lord and my God." Do you see THREE co-eternal persons making up God here? No! So where is the trinity?

I was told that, repetition prayer is your *only* hope for salvation. That you *must* pray, and if you don't, you might miss your chance in going to Heaven. Is this true? What if ones' in labour and misses out on the prayer time? Will the Mother and child be damned?

Who had the most influence in who you turned how to be? Encouraged you, gave you good advise, believed in you, etc. Who was a role model, someone you admired and wanted to emulate? What did they teach you?

For me it was my aunt and uncle. Any unconditional love in my life I got from them. My aunt was a lobbyist and a farmers wife, and it was the two of them who made me realize there was a big world out there, and women could do more than be a wife and mother -

I remember running to my uncle one day and telling him there were fairies living down in the ravine. I was about 2 or 3 I guess, and I can still see him taking his cap of and rubbing his head and say "Well for gosh sakes I didnt know that?, My aunt came outside and he called her and said "Mildred did you know we have fairies living down by the creek? I think we had better go down there and have a look. I dont recall that I ever saw a fairy before but I sure wouldnt mind meeting them"

They were so good with children -

I think this is because he wants to test us. He does not let us know if he exists or not or which religion is true on purpose because this helps us grow and use our hearts. Using your brain is good, but you also need to use your heart and have faith. What are your thoughts?

I was just wondering...what has God called you to do for him and his glory?

An example would be:

When I was in the 7th grade, during church camp to Centrifudge, God called me to become a Deaf Missionary, after preforming "My Father's Heart" by Rachael Lampa, with my small class. [This was in a time when I fell away from God.]
And now next month, I am going to start learning Sign Language at a community college and in a little over 2 years, I am going to be moving to Nampa, Idaho, where God called me to go to Northwest Nazarene University to study Missions. And 3 days ago I found out that the Southern Boise area, near Nampa, Caldwell and other cities that there is a HUGE Deaf Community.

Please share!

God Bless, Peace and Love in Christ!

Is there any foreseeable way we can get the intolerant Christians to accept the intolerant Atheists, and vice versa? There seems to be a lot of closed minds on here.

Tolerant Christians and tolerant Atheists are welcome to join in, but please note this question is addressed to the tolerant only.

I have never felt that Paul's teachings were consistent with what Jesus taught and because of who he was. Paul never met Jesus, but proclaims to have had divine revelations from him. This sounds more like a plot to mislead early Christians than anything else.
