I was just wondering...what has God called you to do for him and his glory?

An example would be:

When I was in the 7th grade, during church camp to Centrifudge, God called me to become a Deaf Missionary, after preforming "My Father's Heart" by Rachael Lampa, with my small class. [This was in a time when I fell away from God.]
And now next month, I am going to start learning Sign Language at a community college and in a little over 2 years, I am going to be moving to Nampa, Idaho, where God called me to go to Northwest Nazarene University to study Missions. And 3 days ago I found out that the Southern Boise area, near Nampa, Caldwell and other cities that there is a HUGE Deaf Community.

Please share!

God Bless, Peace and Love in Christ!

"Strange" callings? How else is God to communicate with his chosen people? If you are in tune with Christ, he speaks directly to you, from within your heart...not though a teacher or a prophet.

Bama, I should have been more clear than I was.

I just got off a stage signing "My Father's Heart" when I sat down with the rest of the 430 Christians. And these were the words that God spoke to me, "Cody, I want you to minister tho those who can't hear."
And believe it or not, this was a time in my life, when I wasn't as close to God as I would have liked, because my great-grandmother, Vesta, the greatest Christian influence had died, she suffered, for almost 3 months...and I was upset at God for it...
And now I look back at my life, and I realized that the signs of God wanting me to tell the deaf about Him were everywhere.
(3rd grade, my class preformed "Love in Every Language" in sing language at the local high school. God called me in 7th grade. Freshman year of high school, I became friends with a hearing impaired gal, who is now my best friend, and is now a believer in Christ. I hope this clarifies what you wrote.

P.S. My name is Cody Marie Bolton, and the reason I go by Marie, is because my hearing impaired friend has a very abusive step-mother, and when we first were friends, she told her mother about me, thought her step-daughter was cheating on her step-daughter's boyfriend, and beat her for it...so for purposes sake I go by Marie, especially, when I contact her, or when she contacts me.

What a wonderfully refreshing question!!! I just can't pass it up! I believe, He called me to write a book about my life. The 'wounded history', the present challenges, and how His Presence In my life has brought healing for my painful past, courage for the present and hope for the future. It will include all the miracles He graciously performed on my behalf. Along with the true accounts of the 'testings and trials' of my faith in Him. He just gave me the format and title for the book this week. It is the reason I got my first computer this May! To write for His Glory! And to encourage and inspire others on their journey as He has done for me, by The Holy Spirit and using other believers. Thanks for askin'. sincerely, Rose

How do you know it is God calling? What type of "caller ID" do you use?

The Bible says, "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." (2 Corinthians 11:13-14) So, how do you know it is not Satan calling?

Faith comes by hearing the word of God. (Romans 10:17) If you want to know the truth, search the scriptures. (Acts 17:11, 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

God has always spoken to his followers through words. How did Noah know to build an ark? God said, "Make an ark". How did the Eunuch learn about the Lord? Phillip taught him. etc.

If you have a feeling about one thing, I may have the oposite feeling and we both could claim it was from the Lord. God gave us the Bible so we could know what He wants.

God called me to teach, because Mark 16:15 says, "Go... teach..."
God called me to be baptized, because Mark 16:16 says, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved."

God calls through His word!

i have always wanted to sing but i dont have to give of music or event the gift to play a certain musical instrument.

God gave me the gift of leadership. i have always been the youth ministry leader in our church and thru God's grace that ministry is going good so far. i may not be a good singer, but i can let a youth sing or play an instrument for the church.

sometimes, we always want something we don't have. but we just have to utilize what we have and realize that God gave us that certain talent or gift for a reason.

I believe has called upon me to bring a little bit of love and understanding to man amongst Christians, specifically towards Homosexuals. Christians claim they love everone like the Bible says, yet they kill and beat and slander gays and lesbians. I know the Bible says homosexuality is wrong, and that is great, but it says no where in the Bible that we cannot love and support the gay community. My best friend is bisexual and i went with her to a gay pride parade and she knows that i love and support her and her choices, and she appreciates and honors my religious beliefs, she even went to church with me the next day. So I love and support gays and lesbians, and I know its wrong, but I am not gay. You can love gays and not be gays, and that is what Christians over look. I live in Louisiana which is home to New Orleans which holds one of the largest gay pride parades in America....i belive its called the Southern Decadence...but i have tried my best to get all of my Christian friends to see gays and lesbians throught my eyes...and i have been bery successful....and I believe I am pleasing God.

All these " strange " callings.. what gives. There is ONLY this..

According to Jesus’ own words, what was the way for his true followers to carry on the work of making disciples of all people without distinction as to nationality? He said: “Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.” (Matt. 28:19, 20)

The command, “make disciples,” according to the Greek verb used in Matthew 28:19, means “make learners or pupils.” In illustration of this, The New Testament—An Expanded Translation, by K. S. Wuest, reads, in Matthew 28:19: “Having gone your way, therefore, teach all the nations, making them your pupils.” Of course, those who receive teaching from the followers of Jesus Christ, become pupils of these, become learners from them. But the teaching is really to be about Christ, and they are to be taught to observe the things that he commanded his followers, and so he is really the Teacher. It is to be just as he told his disciples: “Do not you be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers.” (Matt. 23:8) So the ones who are made disciples are really to be the disciples of this one Teacher, Jesus Christ, who gave the command.

Tell people I heard the fifth trumpet sound when the oil wells were lit on fire during the first gulf war. And warn people that Satan's secret society is forcing and seducing people into worshiping Satan by using witch craft and placing people into bondage by tricking and seducing them into dabble into occult activities read Deuteronomy don't do it. Satan's secret society is spreading like a cancer throughout society.
