What's the dumbest thing you've heard from a theist on this site?

Please note not all theists are this way, but the fundamentalists drive me nuts. What's your favorite quote?

"The Bible is literal and therefore is to be taken literally"

I am not an atheist nor theist..I am still discovering what label I fall under...

I'm actually a theist myself, but I admit my fellow theists have said some pretty dumb things:

"Have Protestants ever been involved in killing other human beings? I am unaware of Protestants starting any kind of a Holy war against mankind. I see on here that people say how Christians have killed all of these people in the past but these were the Catholics. Protestants defended themselves, but never have they set out to harm anyone."

"Once and for all Christians do not and have never believed the earth is flat or that the earth is the center of the universe. That was a Catholic doctrine and we know there is a big difference between Catholism and Christianity."

"I think most athiests believe in God, they're just mad at him for various reasons and are afraid to admit to their anger."

"The reason why some christians are so hard on yall is because that leaves room for satan, to take away that good person and change to evil because many dont have any beliefs and the ones who do, we reconged that it is satan. God let us know that anything thats not from him is satan."

" I think atheists are people that have good intentions, but they are led astray by Satan and by their own arrogance to think they can know everything. I cannot see how someone can be completely good without God. "

"Atheists = timber for hellfires"

"Atheists are just deceived. It's funny because God gave us the Ten Commandments. Atheists lie, steal, hate, blaspheme but still deny the Lawgiver. This is hypocritical. It's like saying "I believe in traffic laws but I don't believe in cops. It's foolish. That is what the Bible says about atheists.

The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good. Psalm 14:1

But the cowardly, UNBELIEVING, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8"

The list is endless, as there does not seem to be a lower limit for theistic stupidity.

Claiming that there is "no evidence" for evolution when there plainly is...all tested and fully documented for the past 150 years...
Insisting that the world is only 6000 years old because "the Bible says so".
Presuming that laws requiring women to keep their heads covered -- if not their entire bodies-- is somehow "repectful"...instead of the controlling mysogyny that it is.
The so-called "recordings of hell".
The insistence that science has somehow proved the Bible when the exact opposite is true.
Insistence that the genocides in the Bible were perfectly justified because "God said so".

Whole catagories of idiocy...

Bluke above obviously did not read the question.
Wanzanna, below just posted the dumbest one I've heard. Atheists do not close their minds to the possibility, they simply do not accept the existence of god as truth without the evidence, but they do not deny the possibility. I'm quite open to the possibility. Just show me the proof.
"God is not a science but a faith".
Well, yeah, that's the problem. When was the last time you brought your car to a faith-based garage to have mechanics pray over your car?

"Excuse me, but if we descended from Monkeys, why are their still monkeys around."

I mean, it says it all. That, the asker has no clue as to the theory of evolution. Also, that we are closer to apes, because they see apes and say monkey. Like the whole idea of science is lost on them.

However, on the flip side, when there is some stupid person who know nothing about religion and ask,

"What's the difference between Catholics and Christians?" Or, "I don't understand where all these religions come from, what is the difference between Jews, Muslims, and Christians?"

I mean, I was raised atheist but took history people. Like did I fall asleep and everybody just decided not to know anything.

Not being able to grasp the fact Atheism is not a religion but what d'ya expect them who worship an Invisible Sky Critter who reputedly said: suck up to me bigtime or go to hell?

[edit]
God did not need to be created because of some inane reason only they think is at all logical.

Fossil evidence that humans and dinosaurs lived side by side.
"ALL" dating methods are flawed [even though they are independant and corroborate each other]
If humans evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?
Carbon dating proves that the Earth isn't millions of years old [even though carbon dating does not even apply to this age]
I don't need evidence for god, I just "know" he's real..
Science can't prove god doesn't exist [even though it has never attempted to, nor would it]
Science is a religion..
Evolution is "only" a theory [even though a "scientific theory" is considered a fact]

There are so many more, and the ignorance, denial, misquotes, misrepresenttaion of mainstream science, and sheer underhandedness and lies that the creationists set spew forth are always worthy candidates for unbridled "dumbness"..

I don't know but it strikes me as more than a bit of a prophesy that "Religion and Spirituality" sits directly underneath "Mythology and Folklore" but a good 7 places behind Bull-fighting!

Man .. check out the thumbs down for Tito... that's just mean.

I'm quoting a question entitled "Is it true that all atheists are bisexual? I read it somewhere online so can anyone confirm or deny this?"

This one just sticks out, I've seen some other things on here tho, that just make you think, omfg.

I think it's a toss-up between the NASA "missing day" story, and a claim the the harsh weather encountered by the martian rover is caused by global warming which is proof of jesus.

Oh, and the "hell found" story.

Bluke: There's a difference between "atheist" and "a theist".
