Christians and muslims are dumb because they base their belief on faith, which means, do not question , just follow what is written in the book . The church and mullahs has to say that because otherwise, the Bible or the koran becomes a crock, with many inconsistencies and many things that simply do not make sense.
So they stay dumb and traditional for another couple of years?

Please don't make general accusation.
There is a person in USA by the name of Jeffery Lang. He has a Phd and is a mathematics professor from a well established university, i.e. University of Kansas. He became an atheist when he was 18 years old. In early 1980s, he converted to Islam.
Prof. Jeffery Lang is a well respected professor in the academic community. No one says he is stupid just because he is a Muslim.
Adam and Eve is about the story of the history of mankind. The Islamic version of the history is slightly different from the Christian.
Just because the story of Adam and Eve cannot be found in the school formal history textbook, it doesn't mean that they never existed in this world.

It's a creation myth, within it is wisdom. To accept it as true is to demean its original purpose. There are several creation myths, they all contain some wisdom, missed by most of us.
