Like in Korean nail shops they chatter in their language to each other while they do my nails. It makes me REALLY uncomfortable. I respect their culture but once a friend of mine understood a little Korean and they were talking about her.

Christian: homosexuallity is wrong. It says so in the bible.

Atheist: well name a reason homosexuallity is wrong without using the bible.

Christian: ok, easy, it's unnatural.

Atheist: So is medicine, telephones and airplanes.

Christian: yeah..... but...... the bible doesnt say those things are wrong, it says homosexuality is.

Atheist: Then name a reason homosexuality is wrong without using the bible.

Christian: ok...

Otherwise, the Holy Spirit would have descended only on St. Peter on Pentecost rather than the other Apostles.

There's a lot of debate about this question in Christian circles, and not all Christians agree on whether there is something wrong with gambling in itself or if it is only a problem when done to excess. Why should atheists care? Because the answers to this question carry interesting implications for Christianity as a whole.

First we need to ask, just what is gambling anyway? Gambling involves betting, whether individually or in pools, in games of chance where the odds of winning or losing are artificially created so that those who win do so (at least in part) at the expense of those who lose. The winnings are not earned; rather, they are the product of luck and maybe a little skill in working the odds.

Next we need to look at the particulars of the debate itself. Most Christian theologians and philosophers have argued that there is nothing inherently wrong with gambling. Instead, the dangers lie in an excess of gambling: when a person is unable to control the urge to gamble.

I work with somebody who just moved here (Minnesota) from Alabama. He is white. He keeps commenting that southern blacks "know their place". What he means is, they are more respectful of whites than are northern blacks. He says that the urban black up here is a violent criminal, as compared to the south. I must admit, I avoid the inner city to the best of my ability.
I don't know what to say to him, because even though I'm black, I was raised in a law-abiding middle class family, and have had very limited contact with the urban black.
So, does anybody know, is there a significant behavioral difference between southern and northern black people?

I want to lose at least 10 pounds before school starts. All my friends say that I' skinny, but I don't think I am. Also, what are some good excersises to help lose leg, thigh, stomach, and arm fat. Just a litttle. By the way, do you think that I can lose 10 pounds by 2 months by eating health and excercising a little bit more than I'm used too (not excessively though). Also, I'm like 5'-5'1''.

JESUS SAID HE WAS:

1 An absolutely FAULTLESS person - Fulfilling all Righteousness & The living Word

2 A PROPHET who foretold His own death & resurrection, thru His sacrificial love for us, to forgive our Sins

3 The CREATOR of the universe - MIGHTY GOD, full of Power and the Miraculous

4 A TEACHER whose doctrine must be accepted - We must keep His commandments

5 The final JUDGE of the world - We will all stand before Him, when we die

6 The only way to eternal life, thru FAITH in Him - He took the penalty for our sins upon Himself

7 GOD HIMSELF, in the form of a man - Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness for sins.

The Bible can do that no other book in the world does, it accurately predicts the future. A great many prophecies have already been fulfilled up to the smallest detail. In the brief life of Jesus, there were 300 fullfilled in detail. He also appeared to over 500 people at different times, after rising fr

I am always running into people saying that " they know me somewhere". Then proceed to try " to figure out" where they know me from by asking me questions like What school you go to? Where do you live? Where do you work? , etc. This is irritating. I am a private person and I don't divulge personal information to people I am not familar with. What are some good ways to answer this question without divulgling a lot of personal information, and without being offensive?

Why is it that when faced with something new the attitude christians have is to disagree but finally they end up accepting and even welcoming in their lives what they previously rejected?
dont christians learn from experience? why dont they start being a bit more open minded and like this they wont have to excuse themselves any more as , for instance, why do they get divorced now when yesterday they were sending to hell everyone who got divorce???

I've heard the English that is spoken by Americans refered to as American rather than English. However, there can be a bigger differences between the way an English person speaks from the North and South than between those from England and those from America. If American and English can be referred to as two different languages, then so can the languages spoken by those living in Yorkshire and those living in London.

I want to send them to magazine where they have an "ask the priest" section. I want some questions that will really stump them. I think if it is too offensive, they will not print it or even answer it. I've seen the magazine and they always have weak questions that the priest answers. Try to think of as many questions as you can. I have some ideas, I just want some more ideas.

If Jesus is really coming back, do you think he ever wants to see another cross?

I know if I'd been crucified, and was born again, the last thing I'd ever want to see was another cross.

Its a bit like turning up to the family of an axe murderers victim, with a felling axe under your arm, just to keep the memory alive.

Surely there must be a better symbol to remember him by.
