as far as i can tell, praying to saints, purgatory, diefying the virgin mary, and seeking absolution from a priest, earning salvation are not mentioned anywhere in the Word of God. how do catholics account for the adding to and taking away from the Word of God? Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that the words of a mere man (the Pope) are considered gospel and as infallibale as the Bible. How is this biblical?
My understanding of the Word of God is that we are saved by grace, and once saved, we need no mediator between ourselves and God. I never thought I had to earn my way to heaven, i just simply need to believe and accept Christ as my Savior. It just seems to me that many Catholic practices are pagan in nature and are even explicitly forbidden in God's Word.

In the video, there is a close up on a man who has a wound on his head open up, bleed, and close again during the ritual. Does anyone know anything about this case (who, where, when)? It was supposedly used by the writers in their research on the movie "The Possession of Emily Rose." They both said that it was the only thing in their research that truly freaked them out and that the video is relatively well known. I can't seem to find anything in my searches.

I want to know why people make fun of fat people? I see people gawk, sneaker and stair at fat people. I dont get it, do they think they are without inperfetctions? Look I see it like this,- Looks and weight change for everyone through out the years of thier life- why not let people live thier life in peace, god knows that it is hard enough. They ( thought they may not say it) are in pain and in most cases it is something that is not easy to change. Why would paople say or do things to hurt them?

It's about a guy named Nick, who after a car accident, starts acting weird. He eventually goes on a serial killing rampage and starts performing human sacrifices because he believes it will help him become more powerful.

In the end of the book, he gets away with it all, and is never punished for his actions. The last lines are "Nick looked around the bar, a sadistic grin on his face. He found a new target and walked up to her, fingering the knife in his pocket."

To just cast aside anyone that's poor in such a cavalier, inhumane way. Doesn't this indicate a lack of empathy on the part of the son of God? (Especially after wasting a year's salary on something so vain when it could have helped the poor).
