Yes, my mother is close minded "supporter".
As far as where I fit. I am not a supporter. I am what I am. Being gay is not illness, cancer patients in need of supporters, not gays.

There are multiple oppressions going on, so why not? I've met xenophobic, racist, elitist gay supporters. It's the same way I've met homophobic anti-racism proponents, sexist eco-warriors, etc.
I'm a mostly het, non-disabled, light-skinned (even if multiracial) woman of middle-class means. I'm sure I'm rank with all sorts of privilege that makes me blind to my own prejudices.

I don't know if its possible to be both, maybe gay supporters, open to gays, but closed minded to things that have nothing to do with gays (i.e. closed minded to child molesters or animal rapers or something)...

You can be closed minded on some issues and open minded on others.

Kedar, Indy, Rainblow Diva, Snapdragonne, Wide Awake, and many others.
These are perfect examples.
All they do is ignore any other views but their own worn out rhetoric.
If you don't agree they resort to smearing you.
But I say have patience. Some day they will stop picking and choosing the facts and actually face the cold hard Truth.
