Do you need a god to have an anchor in life? Last I checked you didn't. REal satisfaction doesn't come only from having a god either.

I do run from thing to thing, and yup, I find real satisfaction in quite a few of those things.
It's really a lot of fun not being tied to an anchor.

I did 'run from one thing to the next' for a while. Then I found where I belonged, a branch of paganism, and have been satisfied here for the past 5 years. Through the good times and the bad I have never lost my faith. I have my own calm, I am part of the world, and I have accepted my place in this world.

No, I'm not searching for real satisfaction. And being atheist entitles me to lots of anchors, some of which I can let go of as I take up new ones throughout my life. Thanks for asking.

I suppose if I have to have an anchor it would be my family and my friends. I get personal satisfaction from writing, as well.
Other than that, I don't have a clue what you mean.

No. My anchors are my job, my friends, my family. I think if you talked to christians, you'd find that their anchors are much the same.

I ran from christianity TO atheism. Now there is no more running away, trying to avoid god, practicing the sin-and-repent cycle, abstaining from life. I do run track and cross country though.
Are YOU satisfied? Do you WISH that I was unsatisfied? Would that make you feel better about being a christian copout? Would that validate and justify your decision?
Christians are the ones that have fled from reality because they can't face it.

No, Not all people need crutches and something to believe in, some people can just take life as it comes and see themselves as their own anchor.

Certainly not. As an atheist, I possess the ability to create and manufacture my own happiness and satisfaction with the world. You can too, when you join the dark side! Don't delay, join today!

I consider life to be a constant search for understanding. But I do not hope from one thing to the next.
And I have real satisfication, thank you.
My anchor is myself, my family, my friends, my career, my country.
