The command is not to murder. Look up the Hebrew word if you don't believe me. Kill is to simply end a life, murder to to kill w/o provocation. War, and self defense therefore do not fall under the murder category.

I'm sure some are. Just like any group of people...you have good people and bad people. People trying to do things Gods way, people trying to do some other way.
There are people in the military who are striving to serve and protect our nation and our way of life. Protecting Our Freedoms, Our liberties, Our Families, our rights to worship as our conscious dictates. They are also helping others to have and understand those rights as well.
And there are some in the military who don't have such noble aims.
God gives us our entire lives to figure out what is important...so someone who is anything but noble now, can be redeemed...and we can only hope and pray that the noble and great ones whom we already have serving, will have the strength and wisdom to stay that way.

Of course not from a Christian perspective. Jesus said blessed are the peacemakers and it is written that there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for another. Thank God for all the brave young men and women protecting us from evil in the world.
In Christ

Nope.
Military is a job to defend a country or state.
As long as you kill in self defense or in defense of others who cannot self defense there is no sin at all, at least for Catholics.
The sin come for tortures, vengeance and other moral evil acts (aka sins) common in wars or in the army context.

Well, i think if they are in the "intelligence" part of the military, and do not actively kill, they are fine.
It's the ones on the front lines that kill enemy soldiers that are bound for hell.
