Because the truth usually hurts and they'd rather just believe what makes them comfortable.

You mean Christians, right? You're not very specific. Only I see a lot of Christians who I'd describe as believing something that makes them feel better and that fits in with their life rather than the truth. But perhaps I misunderstand you.

Everything is perspective.

EVERYBODY doesn't. SOME people do that.

You are making a sweeping generalization. That is faulty logic and discredits you.

Why not look for the truth, sweetie, and come up with some proof or percentages for us? I doubt you will find any. There are none. There is no spreadsheet that will show the number of people who look for truth and the number of people who believe whatever makes them feel better.

Most of us are looking for the truth. You have it backwards.

because it is easier to be taught something, turn around and blame the same thing you believe in as to why someone acts the way they do and it fit so that they are right all the time , than it is to admit when they are wrong, or what they do are say isn't right. plus the truth scares people. it will tell them some things what they want to hear, and most things they don't.

When the subject is religion, there is no such a thing as Truth. Everyone holds the Truth and we will be arguing here forever and never get to a conclusion. I believe God made things that way with a purpose. The purpose might be just for us to learn to live with diversity of thoughts and ideas, and it is funny how all of us can become so full of pride to fight over religion, exactly about God himself. We fight about Him! We fight for the right to know Him, when in fact we don't really know Him.

Religion is all about who we are and not about what people tells us to be, and that's why discussing about religion becomes so personal. The best thing is to accept that all the ways lead to God when the heart is full of sincerity and love. If there is no love, religion becomes hycopcrisy. So the best way to show you love people around you is accept them the way they are and accept their religion and their truth, even if it sounds absurd to you. Pray for them in your heart and in silence and put it in God's hands to lead their way, and never carry the pride to be righteous, because we never know who is really the righteous one. Be humble!

My religion is Spiritism, and I follow it because my intuition tells me that's the right one, and not because it fits my life best. Actually it is not easy to be Spiritist. I am taught to do good things as much as you are in your church and it is not easy to overcome bad impulses.

Peace!

There are as many truths about religion and spirituality as there are people looking for them. No religion has a monopoly on the truth. Every argument you put forward why other religions are wrong can be used to show why yours is wrong. Every argument to show why yours is right can be used by others to show why theirs is right.

Faith is belief without evidence. All beliefs without evidence are as valid as each other.

So you have the truth, is that it?

You alone, and others who agree with you have the truth? Am I to understand that?

Well my life long search is over.

Well Cindy, if I really like bacon, why in the world would I want to beleive in the truth of Islam?

Just think about it for a while....why accept "truth" if it is contrary to what makes you happy? What is "truth" anyway? Your truth? Christian truth? Atheist truth?? Pray tell...

Just look above me. Mooseback33 says that people are weak and narrowminded. Can you guess what "truth" he speaks from?? He doesnt beleive in the Christian God... To you, truth might mean what the Bible teaches. To each their own...

Ok I'll bite.
Where do we get this truth?
Your truth can't be self validating.
Everyone universally has to agree it's true.
If you know what it is please let the rest of us know.
Until then I'll stick to my personal Truth and not push it on others.

Blessed Be!
