When we built our home two years ago, we decided the best guest bedroom for my mother-in-law and father-in-law would be the one that had its own bath. When they visited last, she decided she liked the bathroom down the hall better and then slept in another bedroom off and on as well. I was a little perturbed with this as I thought it was rather rude to mess up two bathrooms and two bedrooms for just two people in someone's home! I would NEVER dream of venturing out in someone else's home and just decide to stay where I wanted to! Am I wrong in thinking this way? What would she do if we lived in a two bedroom home? She would not have this luxury.

They are coming down for a visit next week and I am trying to find a tactful way to dissuade this from happening again this year.

I have to write a short paper, and can't decide on a topic.
This is the prompt we were given: Select one of the social issues that contemporary Native Americans face. Explain why you think this ethnic group does / does not have a greater problem with this issue than mainstream Americans or people in other ethnic groups.

Any ideas on what to write on?

You constantly jump on the Christians for not practicing the love that the bible teaches. What do you believe in so we can tell you when you're not practicing what you preach.

" Atheism isn't a belief, it's the lack of one. No matter how many times we say that, y'all can't stop projecting onto us "

Atheism is a belief, no matter how much you deny it. YOU BELIEVE THERE IS NO GOD......how hard is that to understand? and admit?

When we have God?
Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Did he mean THROUGH him or BY his example? Is there a difference?
Do we need Jesus in our life? Or is his word (i.e. the word of God) enough?

.....so much more important than spending your time pointing at gay people and trying to limit their rights? Are you latently fascinated by what other adults do in their beds?
And Bible beaters: Woudn't God be more upset with deadbeat dads and the serious effects of neglected children (numbering in the 10's or millions and growing) than about a smaller number of gays having their own "friends" and "family"
Besides, you don't even go to gay neighborhoods anyway. You probably wouldn't want to, so how do they affect your marriage? afraid hubby might be tempted???
Also, do you give equal time reading with your children that you give ranting against gays?

Yea I know that everyone has heard of them but what I really want to know is why Christians and others, who believe the words of the Bible are truth, are under the notion that the Ten Commandments apply to them?
G-d gave the Torah, Bible, Old Testament to the Jews on Mount Sinai with all 613 commandments for ONLY the Jews to follow. The Ten Commandments have never and will never apply to anyone else.
I'd really like to know where Christians get this idea that "Oh we have to follow the Bible...and Oh, the Bible says....." if ya'll really have to follow it then how come Christians don't sit in Booths on the Feast of the Tabernacle or not eat leavened bread on Passover or work and cook on the Sabbath?
Hell, even your Jesus said that the laws in the Old Testament are forever binding yet none of you Christians abide by them. The reason you don't have to is because you’re not Jewish and therefore nothing in the Old Testament applies to you.

Although not a JW, I was wondering, according to your research/beliefs, when will the end really come? Is there a specific timetable? May be a couple more hundred of years? A few years? I'd be interested in hearing your responses.

(Please note: answers limited only to JW's. Even though I say this, there will still be a few smart characters here who will take a swipe at the JW's, which unfortunately, will pretty much speak poorly to their character and religion. Yes, some will say this is a public forum - yadda, yadda - but truthfully I have yet to read a JW poster flame another poster or vehemently degrade others publically online. Show some class. So I have to say JW responses only).

The Archdiocese where I attend college already has groups organized that will be going. My friends and I aren't from the area but we would like to go. Is there anyway we can organize our own pilgrimage? Is there any group out there willing to take us in, provided we come up with the necessary funds? If not, can anyone give me some tips on how I can go about making sure (God willing) that my friends and I have a chance of attending this beautiful event?

Do they even try?

The attitudes toward atheists that get expressed here show a complete inability, or lack of willingness to see things from someone else's point of view.

Are they completely incapable of empathy?

If not, why can't they see that most atheists are moral people, living fullfilling lives and trying to contribute to making the world a better place?

The irony is, most atheists seem to have a really good handle on how christians think in here.
