When we have God?
Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Did he mean THROUGH him or BY his example? Is there a difference?
Do we need Jesus in our life? Or is his word (i.e. the word of God) enough?

I think Jesus is an example, a reflection, of God's love; if you do not believe in Jesus, I don't think God would be mad, but if you set an example like Jesus did, then you are already reflecting Jesus's teachings. He was a teacher, a messenger, for God, and there are many people who were (and are) messengers for God; we are all here to learn certain things, and to learn the path of God in our own way.

We need Jesus because he is our sacrificial lamb. The sins we have were placed upon him as a sinless man on the cross and so we are forgiven. By his actions we have fulfilled the requirements of the law and are now made perfect in the eyes of God so that fellowship between God and man can be restored.

We need the God concept. It doesn't matter what you call it. When Jesus lived nobody ever called him Jesus. To my mind when Jesus became the name used Rabbi Yashua Ha Nazar's radical, socialist, Gnostic religious movement started on a slippery slope to hell. But if that name works in your life, use it.

We need Jesus in our life. we need Jesus more than we need the Bible/ Word of God. Jesus is all we need, but the Bible is there to help and guide us. Everyone needs Jesus!
