enjoy the outdoors instead of cable tv.

use the internet at the library, also get a book while you are there and read it at home instead of tv.

don't smoke.

by a food dehydrator: you can make your fruit last forever then and buy them in bulk when they are the cheapest. (i bought my food dehydrator in the goodwill (thrift shop) for $7!

coupons coupons coupons.

try to save gas as much as possible, maybe get a bicycle.

enjoy the company of like minded friends (hard to save money when your friends invite you to expensive places)

shop in thrift stores for clothes and such, go to every garage sale you see. if somehting in a garage sale is $5 don't be afraid to say "would you accept $3 for this"

get a roomate?

My father was a hard working American. He worked all his life until one day he developed a brain tumor. He went to the Social Security Disability Administration and was denied and told he could collect cans for a living. Can you believe that? He had 4 young daughters!
Well, to make the long story short, after 2 years, his benefits were approved.
$600 a month. WOW!!!
No one can survive on this amount. Thank God My dad has daughters who help.

Maybe if my dad had been an immigrant he would have qualified for medicaid faster.

i am surviving now, see, i am going to school and have part time job which makes me about 700-800 a month, my rent is 450, all bill plus together, will be 550. and i don't go out eat with friends, don't go shopping that much.. you will be fine with 800 a month

don't have a car and hard get grocery's so just what ever to survive and sleep some days off sleep is my way

Well, a lot of people in asia survived with less than $100 a month. So, I don't understand what's the problem here :) where there is a will, there is a way.

You do without a lot. If a person has to live off that amount, they find a way to do so.

I barely do. but I go nowhere, I don't do holidays I don't go out, I buy nothing I don't need except for once a year. I survive.

simple: you can't! especially if you live in so. california, where the rents are 1,200 a month for one bedroom apartments!! but don't feel bad: i jsut got an aa degree, and cannot find a job, and am not eliglble for ssi or anything! in one month, i will go from a college degree to the streets!! with not one penny!! and i do not drink or do drugs!! what a sad, pathetic socioety america has become!!! all the illegals get the benefits! california is now 90% MEXICAN AND ASIAN! THESE BASTARDSS HAVE ALL THE JOBS!! time to send them all back to mexico!! time foir whites to stand up for our god given rights!! mexico must go!! the gooks must go!!!

I can see it as being extremely hard. Especially living on their own.

move to mexico. lol. nah, i dont know how people live on that much money. alot of older people dont have a house payment so that helps.
