Jehovah's Witnesses do not suppose any particular timetable within which to expect the beginning of the "great tribulation" or its climactic Armageddon. Strictly speaking, as of June 2007 there is literally nothing in Jehovah's Witnesses' current understanding of the bible which would altogether preclude the continuation of the current ungodly "system of things" for two hundred more years.
(Matthew 13:39) The harvest is a conclusion of a system of things, and the reapers are angels.
However, many or most Jehovah's Witnesses tend to assume that the deteriorating condition of human society, pollution of the earth, and the continuing fulfillment of Matthew chapter 24 would point to the "conclusion of the system of things" during their lifetimes, and perhaps in the next few years.
(Matthew 24:3,14,22) While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” [After giving a list of other signs, Jesus says:] And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. ...In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.

There are signs, but no specific timetable. Imagine if we did have a timetable. How many people would think that they could fool Jehovah? How many people would wait until the last week or month and have a so-called change of heart?
When I think about the end coming "soon", I am filled with both joy and concern. Many of my family members and lifelong friends are not serving Jehovah the way they should be. So (as much as I want to see the end of wickedness) selfishly I want Jehovah to be a bit more patient so that I can have time to work with them and help them see the urgency of the times we are living in.
I don't know about all of you, but this is a heart-wrenching situation that I struggle with and pray about all the time. I do know that Jehovah knows best. I also know that not everyone will be saved. I know, too, that Jesus said his sheep would hear his voice. Most of all, I know that Jehovah will not give us more than we can bear. So, I take comfort in that.

The Bible does not give us the exact day or time.It does however through a series of prophecies allow us to determine that we are living in the period of time the Bible calls "the last days"(2Tim3:1-5).
Also Matt.24:14 states"This good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth, for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come"
So when Jehovah God is satisifed that the witnessing work has been completed He will bring about the destruction of this wicked system, just as he did in the days of Noah.People took no note then nor do they today.
Through careful study of the scriptures we are able to discern that there are only a couple of prophecies that still await fulfillment.......

when they turn against my people the end will be instantly upon them.
this is the thought i like.Cause many signs are given to how far along we are in the fulfilling of Gods prophecy's.
but this shows a loop hole. Not all have to be fulfilled.
thus the end will come like a thief in the night.
also if the time was not cut short man would completely wipe himself off the earth.
you can't just change your faith at the last day.(minute)

Not even Jesus knows.
Matt 24:34 - But concerning that day and that hour, no man knows, not even the angels of heaven, but the Father alone.

“Jehovah is my share,” Jeremiah wrote, “that is why I shall show a waiting attitude for him. Good is Jehovah to the one hoping in him, to the soul that keeps seeking for him. Good it is that one should wait, even silently, for the salvation of Jehovah.” (Lamentations 3:24-26) Some of us have been waiting for just a short time. Others have waited for many years to see the salvation of Jehovah. How short, though, this waiting period is when compared with the eternity ahead! (2 Corinthians 4:16-18) And while we wait for Jehovah’s due time, we can cultivate essential Christian qualities and help others to take advantage of Jehovah’s patience and embrace the truth. May all of us, then, keep on the watch. Let us imitate Jehovah and be patient, thankful for the hope he has given us. And as we faithfully stay alert, may we keep a firm hold on the hope of everlasting life. Then, these prophetic promises will surely apply in our case: “[Jehovah] will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see it.”—Psalm 37:34.
Not knowing the exact day of the end of this old system gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that we serve God out of a pure motive. How so? It may be that the end seems to be a long time in arriving. Sad to say, some Christians who feel this way have allowed their zeal for Jehovah’s service to cool off. Yet, by our dedication, we have without reservation presented ourselves to Jehovah to serve him. Those who know Jehovah realize that a last-minute display of zeal will not impress him. He sees what is in the heart.—1 Samuel 16:7.
There is no doubt about it. The end of Satan’s system is close at hand. Those who ignore the evidence that we are living in the last days will be caught off guard when the end comes. (Matthew 24:37-39; 1 Thessalonians 5:2) Therefore, Jesus said to his listeners: “Pay attention to yourselves that your hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon you as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth. Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man.”—Luke 21:34-36.
Only those standing in an approved condition before the Son of man, Jesus, will have the prospect of surviving the end of this system of things. How vital that we use the remaining time to seek the approval of Jehovah God and Jesus Christ! In prayer to God, Jesus said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3) It is, then, the course of wisdom on your part to learn more about Jehovah God and his requirements. Jehovah’s Witnesses in your community will be happy to assist you in understanding what the Bible teaches.

Hello there!
We do not know when the end will come. We just know it is soon.
“Keep on the watch . . . because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”—Matt. 24:42.
THE time is coming when all of earth’s inhabitants will face an event that will mean either life or death for them. Jesus Christ foretold it when he said: “Then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.” This is the time when, as a result of feeling his destructive power, “all the tribes of the earth . . . will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory,” and they will beat themselves in selfish grief over what it means to them.—Matt. 24:21, 22, 30.
There are signs in the Bible that tell us that it is soon! Matt 24:3-8 reads "3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”
4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress."
Notably, there have been two world wars, unprecedented in human history. However, remember, Jesus’ expression ‘nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom’ also had a first-century application, so it is not limited to world wars. With the wars have come severe food shortages and disease, even as foretold. Terrifying earthquakes “in one place after another” have also marked our day. You are acquainted with these facts, because they are the everyday news of our generation.
Despite difficult conditions, including an upsurge of lawlessness, Jehovah’s Christian witnesses have pushed the preaching of the “good news of the kingdom” into “all the inhabited earth”. Millions of persons have heard them gladly, but they have also been “objects of hatred by all the nations” on account of the name of their Master. These things too were foretold. (Matt. 24:9-14; Mark 13:9-13) It is not merely the use of the name “Jesus” that has brought such hatred upon them; many who claim to believe in Jesus are not persecuted for doing so. But Jehovah’s Christian witnesses point to Jesus as the One anointed by God to be earth’s new King and the only one through whom men can acceptably approach God. (Luke 19:11-23; John 14:6; Acts 4:12) This is the “name,” or what it implies or imports, that irritates men who selfishly seek to pursue their own schemes.
He called these “a beginning of pangs of distress.” So intense would the difficulties be that there would be great “anguish of nations, not knowing the way out,” with many people becoming “faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth.”—Matt. 24:7, 8, 34; Luke 21:10, 11, 25, 26.
The apostle Paul tells us: “Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night. Whenever it is that they are saying: ‘Peace and security!’ then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape.” (1 Thess. 5:2, 3) Already, the cry for peace and security is rising in a crescendo. And it can be expected that, while the nations are making a significant cry of “peace and security,” then suddenly, “Jehovah’s day” will break forth in all its fury. It will come just like the unexpected arrival of a thief in the night. Like sudden pangs of childbirth, the day of accounting will catch up on the nations of earth, and divine judgment will be executed on them.—Zeph. 3:8.
Think about this... If you knew someone was going to break in your house tonight, would you stay awake and watch for the signs for them to enter if you knew what the signs would be? YES you would! You would not be taken off guard, even though you knew he was coming, you just didn't know when exactly, but when he came, that was it, he was there, NO GOING BACK! It would be instantly upon you. That is how Jehovahs day is compared to. We don't have a date, but the Bible does give us signs, so we watch closely. We don't want to be taken off guard because once it happens, thats it.
So as you see, we see the horrible world we live in! The crime, porverty, all the hate people have! The end is near! What must you do??? Go to the link I have provided. Use YOUR copy of the Bible... It does not give you a date but it does help you see what you must do and the urgency at hand.
