I agree that we should never, ever, use Bible codes to predict the future. However, there is manifold evidence that Equidistant Letter Sequences within the text that cannot be refuted. Are they to be used to tell the future? No, that is not their purpose, and books claiming this have been rightly discredited. The purpose of the ELS is a "watermark" to show that the original Hebrew is from the Author and that it is not as "flawed" as detractors claim.
Chuck Missler's book "Cosmic Codes" does an excellent job of presenting all sides and evidence, and separating fact from distraction.

One of the most interesting things about ELS is that some of them are so simple, that you can actually break out an interlinear and count yourself to prove what is being presented is true or not. A good example is to take the Pentateuch, starting with Genesis, and note every 49th Hebrew letter (7x7). The letters spell out the word TORAH, the name for the holy scriptures. Do the same thing in Exodus, and again, it spell out TORAH. Now try it with the last two books, Numbers and Deuteronomy. We get the same result, only reversed--HAROT. Do the same count in the center book, and we get YHWH. The message of this simple code is that the Torah always points to Jehovah. This is just one of many "watermarks" that prove the Torah has not only been faithfully copied, but that the text is from an Author outside of our time domain.
But remember, the ELS code is not the only encryption in the Bible. There is the idiomatic code...

There are types, foreshadows, prophecy, parables, and several more.

In the old Hebrew (because there are no vowels), one can skip letters (every other letter, etc.) an possible come up with a message. So, sometimes this is on purpose, by the writer inspired by God. And sometimes it isn't a true prediction or Gods message. One would need the Holy Spirit. I have read some of the bible code predictions & one was that we would have WWIII in 2006. Also, that Bush was the antichrist, etc... Well it is true that the devils plan was WWIII in 2006, but the Christian prayers turned that around.
So, the Holy Spirit showed me the bible code website I read through was bogas. But there are true biblical codes & that one of them is the OT Name lineages. Each name has a meaning & if you put those meanings together, you have another Messiah prophetic Word.

Yes, I think that the Bible codes exist. And I am a scientist.
Other scientists as Prof. Yisrael Aumann, who is a Nobel Prize does, too.
It seems that all that was, is, and will be until the end of time is included in the Torah.
I will provide you an example: the trials of Nurenberg and the hanging of ten top-echelon nazis were predicted in the Book of Esther. (See source.)

Interesting.
Bible scholars have long been aware of letter patterns and unusual word phrasing in the scriptures. Books have been written to show that these "codes" exist, but the proof has only been shown in hindsight, rather than in prophetic writings.
If the Bible does indeed contain such codes, no human can break them, for they are Divinely inspired.

Bible "codes" are NOT real.
They DO exist, but only for the writers of these books that teach it...sure! They're getting RICH off the ignorances of the sheep that do not know any better.
To believe that there is a "hidden" knowledge in the Bible is a teaching of Gnosticism, an early heresy the Apostles condemned.
God has spelled out all the prophecies He wants us to have, and He did not do it secretly.

You might be referring to the Qabalah. On the theory, every Hebrew letter being also a number, words of the same numerical value are explanatory of each other. Hence AHBH "love" = 13, and so does AChD "unity;" this is said to indicate that "The nature of Unity is Love."
It's really no different from any other "mystical" process. The method itself is obviously bunk; yet it can lead to "higher states of consciousness" in which "Truths" are revealed.

well know one can predict the future. but the happening of the rapture and tribulation are in revalations. Some people think that the babylon in revelations is the U.S.A. God did say that no man shall know the time and the day. meaning when the rapture will come.

regardless, i know what u mean, it seems to only predict past happenings. however on the documentary i watched it did have future predicitions too. granted, there were two of them.

Well yes the future is in the bible but we still don't know our own future, just tells you what will happen in general, we don't know our personal future like where we will work or who we will marrry etc
