Allright, my question is this. I know about twenty conjugated forms of each verb. I know the present, future, imperfect, and preterite tenses of each verb. Is this enough for me to communicate in Spanish? Or do I need to know more? Do native Spanish speakers actually know more tenses than this? Are there more tenses than this?...Sorry for all the questions....I'd appreciate if each person that answers answers all of the questions...thanks...

I guess this is just an extension of a question asked by bruce b "Why are the young running from Christianity?" http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ars8iDwGBY9aCFxJjNvZvA7g5gt.?qid=20070603074204AAQMITl&show=7#profile-info-aLL66rzAaa

But it is something I was thinking about earlier on today.

My generation almost entirely grew up in established churches.

Most atheists from my generation shed their faith as they grew older.

But now, there are far more children growing up without that religious indoctrination.

Will this lead to a surge in the number of atheists as these kids grow older and then raise even more atheist kids?

Will christianity be an eccentricity of the older generation, not to be taken seriously by the young?

Thanks.

I can't take it anymore - when is it over ? As much as I pretend it doesn't bother me, my eyes water, I sneeze, my head hurts and I have trouble breathing. My kids have a hard time as well. I put up a good front, but need to know how to answer, "when is this smoke going to stop happening at Church?"

Your thought on this quote please

We are a people of different faiths, but we are one. Which faith conquers the other is not the question; rather, the question is whether Christianity stands or falls.... We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity... in fact our movement is Christian. We are filled with a desire for Catholics and Protestants to discover one another in the deep distress of our own people.

To me, New Age thinking is: a universe made up of an energy (or force) that is itself conscious, alive, infinitely intelligent, and all-powerful. And everything (including us) is just that one energy in the form of different objects, and it's sort of a game for us to discover over the course of life (or lives) who/what we really are. No judgment, no conflict, pain or suffering, just the appearance of such, for the purposes of playing this "game".

I actually like this worldview the best, it makes the most sense to me actually. But when this kind of thought started getting embraced by young people in the 60s, with Ram Dass, psychadelics, etc the US has seemed to not function as well as it did before then. People live by their own moral codes instead of a more traditional universal one. Some would say the further to the left the US has gone, the faster it falls apart.

Does New Age thinking not work in real life? Would that mean "New Age" thinking is bad/harmful altogether?

Why don't most fellow Christians know their Church history but accuse you of being wrong of your belief?

I Am Apostolic and i have talked to so many people who tell me what certain scriptures talk about, when you ask them "how do you know?" They say because its in the bible but many of them don't know the history of the bible or the early church belief, they just go by what the preacher says or just by their own interpretation.

I hear the same explaination all the time of certain scripture and its sad to know that many lack knowledge of scripture, Jesus said "My people perish for the lack of knowledge".

Ex. Thou shalt not Kill
Many dont know this is not the original wording, The Hebrew scripture is "Thou shalt not Murder"

Ex. John 1: 1, 2 is assumed to mean Two persons of the Godhead, I asked why, they say " because it says it", According to Historians, Scholars, and even some Former Trinitarians, John 1: 1, 2 does not mean a Trinity, even the early church Fathers
