I really want to start learning Russian language, because it's strange for me (I'm Spanish), but it sounds me really nice. Also, I love Russian literature and I hope I will be able to read some day a Dostoievsky or Tolstoi's book in Russian...

Chinese - spoken by 1.2 bn people (or more) it will be important to know it for the future, as China opens up more to the rest of the world.

As for the language itself, I think I'd have a real sense of achievement learning the characters (ideographs?). Not to mention managing the tones - I understand that there are 5 possible tones in Mandarin (7 in Cantonese) for each diphthong, meaning that a slight difference in pronunciation can change the whole word.

And behind the language there's a whole new culture for someone from the west to discover.

1) German - I love the sound of it. The culture also seems pretty interesting. I'd love to visit one day.
2) Dutch - Same as German.
3) Spanish - Mainly because so many people in the United States use it. I wouldn't bother otherwise.

Maybe:
1) Swedish or Norwegian - I've always been interested in Northern Europe.
2) Russian - I'd consider it, though doubtful I'd ever visit the country.

I've started learning Norwegian. I have relatives in Norway.
I'm learning Greek. I like Greeks. They have one of the most original languages in the world, compared to Latin, in which most are borrowed from Greek and then Romanized. Where there should be a "kh" in Greek, they changed it to "ch", there is already a "ch" sound in Latin, pronounced as in "kitchen". The Russians also borrowed from Greek, but you don't see Russians messing up the original Greek spelling, because if you transliterate back into "English", it will be the same as Greek.

I speak English, Spanish,
Irish, and French. (Poorly)
I tried Japanese , but no go.
I am trying Russian next, or
possibly Semitic.
There has to be a language,
that I can learn, and sound normal.

Well, I already speak English, French and German and I'm learning Chinese. In 3 years' time I will be fluent in that, so I want to learn Welsh in the future for definite and Italian because it's similar to French but different too...
