Do you agree that the changing of Christmas lights to Fairy lights and merry Christmas to Happy Holidays is apalling in Britian (as not to offend muslims)

i think its wrong but britain is a multi cultural society so is this right?

I recently had a baby in October. I had a shower about 1 month before that and made sure that I sent out thank you cards for each and every person that got us something. As I should have. Anyways, my question is, when I had my baby, some of the same people bought extra gifts and gave them to me at the hospital. Do they get another Thank you card? You know when you have a baby, people will bring stuff up to your room? Do they get thank you cards too? I already sent them thank you cards for the shower gift because all of the people that brought stuff to the hospital, also attended the baby shower. Just wondering......

I would have thought the self proclaimed "holy book" would have had a more convincing story that jesus was the son of god, mary was a virgin, talking donkeys etc... ie. some actual hard evidence and proof.

I am not actually looking towards being a christian (again) but why did the "good" book convert me in the an atheist??

A head on collision where he veered over the center line into my lane. (true story folks) He was killed instantly, I walked away unscratched. I am deeply grieved even though it was not my fault. My suggestion is that you stay away from this area of yahoo answers until you are stronger. There are so many here who are only out to do the work of Satan and to try and bring you away from Christ.
Does anyone who is strong in the Lord have suggestions for them, please share?

Whenever there's a discussion on politics, the whole world understandably comes down on America. But more recently it seems whenever _any_ topic comes up, people are quick to attack Americans regardless of how irrelevant nationality is to the subject.

I'm wondering if Canadians truly feel superior to Americans, or if politics is clouding everything. I haven't visited Canada recently, but a friend of mine who recently visited said he was actually accosted by the natives on a recent trip once they found out he was an American.

Last time I did visit I was shocked to find that, if anything, their quality of life is higher than ours. I find it somewhat amusing that they feel the need to bash common Americans, based solely on that single identifier, when they are almost totally dependent on their relationship with us (as we are them -- we're mutually biggest trading partners).

I know this probably sounds like an underhanded insult, but I really want to know if this is how they feel.

I was intrigued by an earlier post about the number of female respondents saying they prefer a strong man who is physically built and confident because:
1.) Muscles on men are sexy
2.) They prefer a man who can protect a woman
3.) A man who is a provider is considered a turn on... whether it be physically, financially, or emotionally.

Now my question is this... isn't that plain sexist? Is this how society and the mass media have fabricated our views on what men or women should be? THink of thin, beautiful women and women who don't fit in that category.

Do some of you think this is natural instincts or society's way of molding our lives?

That belief in God, is no different than belief in aliens, for those who claim to see them, belief in Big Foot, for those who claimed to have witnessed it, belief in Loch Ness, for those who claim to have pictured it?

What I mean to say is, Aliens, Big Foot, LochNess, are not provable as of yet, except to those who believe, so God, is not provable except to those who believe?

So how can any intelligent Atheist assert their BELIEF there is no God is factual? If you dont believe in God, its fine, but how is it you can tell ANY of us this is something you KNOW to be true, when you can readily admit, you can not know everything?

I believe in God, I have no PROOF to share, so logicaly I can not KNOW he exists, no more than you can KNOW he does not.
