To "Old know all" its not about face, sweetie, its about culture and belief. Ive been raised like this and used to it and sorry but i not going to change. Im atheist and we dont celebrate how christians do, fair dos. we celebrate our family and the love for our family, plus we have a big party. thats the way its always been with our family so why should things change now. You shld look in the mirror too.

Im atheist and I dont moan about it. i think its better being Christmas Lights or whatever because its specific. Im happy with a multicultural britian i just hate the way, for example, immigrants want it like their home, as said by someone who answered just now,.

I agree with "ploppy pants". The term English is disappearing, which is quite sad really. :(

just remember one thing when saying mulitcultural britain

if you and you wife went to japan and had kids that had more kids and they then had kids, you would never be japanese you would always be english

as for multicultural britain, as annoying as it gets listening to all these stupid rules and quotes coming from the people in the know, i say one thing

if you come here you accept our rules and our cultures

it is time to give england back to the english

Sorry love but you've just being neurotic and blaming Muslims/political correctness for issues that either don't exist or have other causes.
Fairy lights have been called fairy lights in Britain for 50 years to my personal knowledge. The earliest ones I recall from the late 50's and early 60's were like small multi-coloured flowers.
Happy Holidays is a US import and is a result of globalisation. Season's Greetings (which John Reid didn't want on his Xmas cards) has been appearing on British cards since my childhood.
I have never met a Muslim who objects to the celebration of Xmas, Xmas cards or Xmas parties. Every office party I've been too for the past 20 years has had a few Muslims present and they have as much fun as everyone else.

It is most certainly wrong to change a name if only to satisfy a minority's sensibilities. I would think that names to Muslims or any religious sect are irrelevant.

There was a Jehovah's witness in my primary school who used to leave the class when the lords prayer was said every day, and when Christmas was celebrated. I thought at the time that it was a principled approach, and very reasonable to object in this way. I also wondered whether there was anything in his objection to the mindless brainwashing of religion that the media and education system rams down your throat.

Surely, religion is a family and personal choice. Nothing to do with schools or government.

Or is religion just another form of political party?

i think it is ridiculous! How come Britain has to change its traditions because of the influx of immigrants? I do understand that London for example is a multi-cultural city but people who come here know where they are heading for and what it entails. I think that they are not supposed change the cultural heritage of the country and turn Britain or maybe the whole Europe into some without-character place where such international festives as Christmas are to be changed and maybe disregarded at all in the long run. Lots of people have brought here their own religions and customs and they have evey right to observe them. Changing Christmas Holidays into "Happy Holidays" is just silly. It is simply an example of when the political corrctness verges on absurdiy.

Personally I think we shoud have a national close down such as Christmas for every Religion's Special Day, thus keeping everyone happy.

Christmas rocks, and keep it coming!!
I'm sure most muslims don't even get bothered by it.

It's acually the PC crowd who are instigating much of this silly practice. The majority of muslims and other races don't want us to start changing. What a surprise that the PC crowd have got it wrong again. They're a bunch of interfering fools.

Umm, the term Fairy lights is going to offend a proportion of the British population and will be outlawed.

Britain is only a multi-cultural society by manipulation, coercion and if necessary, by force. Of course this only applies to the white middle class indigenous population who are branded as racist for defending their country and culture.

Getting rid of blair and labour will end political correctness and immigration.
The loony left does indeed incite this stupidity, many work for borough councils and have to justify their jobs paid for by council taxes.Tony blair encourages public sector employment so that jobs depend on him being voted in.

Stop immigration, repatriate those who dont reach new stringent criteria for staying.
.
no man,no problem

It's very silly. And I always get a little confused when they call Britain multicultural as if every other person is ethnic - I live in Leeds and that's not quite how it goes.
