I can see that you people aren't up on the latest scientific news. Many of the men you rely on for the truth in this matter are also uninformed. The discovery of chirality being present in all life proteins and in DNA has put the scientific world on it's ear. Those aware of it are back peddling to understand how life could have begun on this planet.. Still rejecting the creative powers of God they now say that they don't know and the subject need more research. At least those aware of the problem don't reject hard science like I see most of you on answers doing... Yes I have the upper hand with you now on creative science. To bad your hearts are so hard as not to see the finger print of God on creation in chirality.... Jim

Unless they are whoring for the Templeton Prize and want to retire, ID is not only unnacepted by the scientific community, it is not even a theory, as it does not even meet the most basic standards of the scientific method.

The scientific community laughs at ID.

Last I checked, ID is the laughingstock of the scientific community... it's certainly not a theory, as it is not testable. Most of ID's claims are nothing more than creationist claims against evolution. It's a farce.

Science does not accept ID. Why?

Scientists prefer natural explanations to supernatural ones, not because of any metaphysical bias on their part, but because natural explanations produce more understanding than supernatural ones. As Plato realized, to say that God did it is not to explain anything, but simply to offer an excuse for not having an explanation.

no. a scientific theory requires (1) evidence and (2) to withstand critical evaluation by peers. ID fits neither category.

Absolutely not-it isn't supported by any compelling evidence so it isn't regarded as viable by conventional scientists. Evolution by means of natural selection is so well established and supported by hard evidence that no competing explanations are likely to be taken seriously without some earth shattering new scientific discovery.

2006-12-19 06:13:34 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 10 1

No. Virtually every professional scientific organization issued a statement condoning ID as religion and not science. There's nothing to it.
