Honey, people are close minded at times because something has challenged the way they think about the way things are. They don't want to have to rethink their lives.
The judging thing is human nature. This helped our ancestors to determine if someone from another tribe was a good or bad person or meant them harm. It won't stop because believe it or not you need to be able to "size up " people from time to time. Jumping to conclusions is another thing

Gossip makes people feel better than someone else. Look around you...everyone does it. The best way to combat it is to ignore it as much as possible. Walk into a room like you are the queen of the world and above all make sure that what is being said is not true. I have found that if they are talking about someone else then just look at the person with wide eyes and say " what makes you think so". When they tell you then you have the ammunition to stop the gossip

Sadly I don't think it will end all the time there are people. I think, providing what you do doesn't hurt anybody else, you should be able to get on with it. If we all let everybody get on with what they needed to do and weren't too focused on the accumulations of stuff. We would all live in a much nicer world. But then if everybody thought like me, I doubt we would have invented space travel or TV or the internet, we'd all still be sitting under a palm tree somewhere eating figs, drinking rum and singing sea shanties, so I guess we take the rough with the smooth.

People with low self esteem judge others, make fun of others, gossip, and can't see beyond their own opinions. This is the only way they know to feel important and good about themselves. The person with the high fives for everyone is the one with high self esteem. Yes, we definitely need more people like that in this world.

You are speaking of the human condition. Everyone must decide for themselves how they will think and act in the world. But no act is perfectly moral. A benefit for one may mean harm for another. A thoughtful person might continually adjust his/her ethical code with experience. But that takes a lot of effort, and also runs the risk of "standing" for nothing. It is far easier to draw a line and define yourself for the duration. But that still doesn't prove you are right. The more you trash someone else's belief and ethic, the stronger your own feels.

People place a lot of value in their ultimate truths. Listening to someone else's "nonsense" endangers one's own foundation, exposing one to the queasy horror of "moral equivalency" and the possible need to change. I don't see everyone embracing that edgy lifestyle any time soon.

That's the kind of psychological machinery you're taking on. Still, one can dream.

most likely it will never stop. People feel better about themselves when they talk bad about others. If we all would just worry about our own lives this world would be a better place.

It will never end all you could do is either stand up and fight back or be the better person and just let it go. Don't let people bother with this especially the people online who you probably won't see anyways

That's alot of wishing.. My guess would be when everyone quits worrying what people think of them and just worry about themselves. In todays age, probably never-always someone who will come up with a complaint or insult.. Best luck with your wish.
