Check out this section on religious violence.I don't agree with these people completely,but they do have some good information,and most of what they say can be verified.There are also quite a few more reasons.There are a wide range of problems with religion including things like mental health issues,discrimination,cruelty to certain groups,as well as others.
This is just one group of reasons.
On a personal level,add to these reasons the basic premise that the entire concept of any god is simply not reality,and finally,the fact that I lose friends every single day of my life because of religion and what it does to people.
- We can do better than this...

Like most people I do a lot of my Christmas shopping on line, this year I've had quite a bit go missing. Ordered 5 dvds from play.com, received 3. Ordered 3 console games, received 2. Ordered 1 box of expensive chocolates, not received at all.

Then finally this morning was the last straw, a relative sent my son a card with a £10 note inside, the card had been opened with a knife or letter opener and delivered like that with the money gone.

Is this happening to anyone else here? Just how much stuff is being stolen by Royal Mail staff?

Does anyone here work for the Royal Mail? Maybe you can tell us the true story??

Just curious, what happens then to you when you die? Yes your body will get buried 6 feet under, but where do you think your soul will go? And do not tell me you do not have a soul, because if you did not have a soul you would not even be here and you would not even be here. Like my sister said, we are spiritual beings in a bit of flesh. How true. So just curious where do you think you are going(spirit being the real you) when you cark it. If you say it will go no where, then what you are saying is that you cease to exist, Gee that sounds very excieting, not. So if you cease to exist, that sounds like fun.. Then what is the point of living if you have nothing to live for, like Jesus, Heaven and the Lord God almighty.? If you think this world is all you have, and you think there is nothing beyond this life, what keeps you going in this dead world full of spiritually dead people?

I was watching a National Geographic show some years ago. It was some island tribe, I think. The women were big but hardworking. The more fat a woman had, the more the bride's family could ask for in the bride price.
