I've just come home from a work Christmas party, at the start of the day, a work collegue asked if I had a ride to the function, I replied no, We made wishy washy plans and decided to catch a cab in, between phone conversations I had spoken to another collegue he said that he would be more than happy to give me a lift & not her. I descretly went back to the other collegue and she got really upset and was quiet abusive. (I had only started in this position 2 months ago.) I told her that she was in no position to put me down. However she has now created a huge drama & everyone knows about it including my employer. I tried confronting the situation and now she is really nasty. I really don't know how to confront this lady as I now feel rather insecure of my position as I've just started. Everyone agrees that she is in the wrong. What should I do to better this arrangement?

Our purchasing manager is taking home all the good Christmas loot vendors are sending to our office. She said that since they come addressed to her (the only name they have as a contact with our company) they are a perk of her job. I say they are meant for the whole company. She leaves the crappy stuff on the table but good stuff goes straight to her car. Who's right?

I don't understand it. Gays are 99.9%(we have to allow for human error ofcourse) of the time products of sexually abused childhoods and yet somehow it less degrading to be a hemorroid to society than to speak up honestly and get help. Why is that?

What do you think?

I think it shows that the bible is a guide for us in life, but we need to realise that it is open to interpretation and was written in a time when society was so very different. I'm a Christian and this clip doesn't offend me at all. in fact I think Jed Bartlett (though he is a fictional character I know!) is a great example for Christians.

The OT is full of horrible acts of aggression. Most Chistians concede this but insist that "all changed when Jesus came" with his message of love etc.

If you hold that Jesus and God is one and the same, can you not ONLY conclude that the OT CANNOT be for 100% the LITERAL word of God?? (and stop insisting on the literal version of the Creation story in Genesis, for example?)
