Well I was physically, sexually and emotionally abused as a child by other children and I'm straight, so where does that fit into your theory?
P.S. I'm not making that fact up. I just think the word "bullied' was too mild a term for how I grew up.

I was abused as a child and into my teen years, but I certainly didn't "become" gay as a result of it. The abuse in my past may have caused my subconscious hatred of men who resemble my abuser, but it did not cause me to hate or fear all men, nor did it make me magically attracted to women. If I was straight to begin with, I would still be straight. However, that isn't the case - I am a lesbian, and have ALWAYS been a lesbian. I was born gay, it's who I am. Sorry if that's not what you'd like to believe, but it's the truth. Plus, I have many lesbian and bisexual friends who were never abused. So, all in all, I highly disagree with you.

You've been listening to religious propaganda, dude... the only reason gays used to be 'a hemorroid to society' is that homosexual couples can't get any children and way back when, before overpopulation, pensions, health insurance etc it was a problem if you didn't have any children... nowadays lots of couples don't have any kids, we all contribute by paying taxes etc to our care for our old age, and some homosexual couples even get kids by adoption or artificial means. That's eliminated the practical problems there used to be with homosexuality. And I believe practical problems are the root of most religious bans; the people in charge a thousand years ago or more knew very well that people were more likely to listen to them when they'd say 'God says so, do it or you'll burn in hell' than when they'd say 'Hey, if you get sick or old, you need kids to take care of you, so you needa have a normal male/female family & have kids'. The first is a powerful incentive, the second far less. People made up the bible to suit their needs!

I'm gay and I wasn't sexually abused as a child. I know people that were sexually abused that aren't gay.
Please don't categorize and label a whole group of people based on one person's experience or over generalized stereotypes. It doesn't help anyone in society to coexist peacefully.
If I were to follow your example and categorize all straight people, based on your question, I would have to label them all ignorant a**holes. Luckily, I know this is not true of all heterosexuals. However, it does apply to you.

Pedophiles are often victims of childhood sexual abuse. Why does the gay and lesbian community have to take the rap for everything? I'm straight and I'd leave my kids with a gay or lesbian babysitter without hesitation. A registered sex offender? I'd shoot him.

That is a load of nonsense. I have a few gay friends and none of them have been sexually assaulted as children, why do people get the wrong idea about Gay people.

Because it's simply not true. I know a lot of people who are gay & they weren't abused as children. Many are very close to their parents. In fact, the only people I know to have been abused as children are heterosexual (straight).

Neither was I sexually abused as a child, nor am I a Haemorrhoid (UK spelling) to society. Then again, I'm only bisexual - perhaps, from your curious perspective, you could tell me how I came to be as I am?

As a social scientist, I'm highly skeptical of your statistics. As a gay man who was never abused, I'm highly offended by your claim. I'm sorry that you choose to live in a world where different = damaged, but don't try to include me in it.
