My 2 yr. old has no problem listening to her step-dad, but when I tell her to do something she acts like she can't hear me. Or worse yet yells gibberish at me and screams no. Which is troubling because she really is a sweet, sweet child. When it comes to discipline we use time out, and when I put her there she gets back out and goes right back to what she was doing without missing a beat. It is starting to cause problems with me and my husband. He hates that I get so upset at the fact that I can talk until I am blue in the face and she won't listen. Are there any helpful hints to try and get her to listen to me as well as him?

Where I live there is a headstart program you can send kids to when they turn the age of three. My husband and I plan on sending our son in November (when he turns 3). Now my family has lots of controversay over this saying he's too young for school, but my husbands family agrees with us. We believe that this will be a great opportunity for him to learn to get along well with other children plus the benefits of learning.I was just wondering what you guys thought...Is he too young to send to school?

My son will go to the potty sometimes and will even tell you that he has to go - sometimes, but there are times that he refuses to sit on the potty and screams thoughout the process. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them.

He is already taking TEGRETOL 3 times a day...and it is not working. The Dr. just started him on another med in combo with the tegretol. I hate giving him all this med. (which by the way, is extreemly hard when he constantly fights me). But, my ? is....
Has anyone heard of KEPPRA? I read on the info sheet that it should not be used in children under age 16, but the pharmisist and Dr. say that they think this is the only one that will work for his seizures. What should I do??? He has been so moody (well, more than normal) since we started it! HELP?!

I have 2 older kids which are not his. The older kids go outside to play at a park behind my house & the two year old wants to follow. I am usually overwhelmed w/ housework while my b/f talks on the phone or watches tv. My 2 y.o wants to go outside & when I allow him to go with the older kids (7, 8 ),monitering him frequently my b/f watches from the window & criticizes everthing that happens wrong, then go to the door & scream at my kids and their friends about not watching the 2 y.o. My b/f then makes our two year old come in leaving me to deal with our 2 y.o crying & begging to go outside. I push my housework to the side & take our son outside. My older two are beginning to complain of their little brother b/c when they take him out my b/f is always screaming what they do wrong. My b/f and I argue all the time about this. I worry about how this effects the older two kids and my two year old who begs to me to go outside, but then dad yells no. What can I do?

It annoys me so much. What do I tell his mother so that this kid (2 years old) learns some manner? I just hate it when he cries as if someone is killing him He cries so loud and so wild that neighbors check on us to see if we are abusing him.. Gawd..

Okay, it sounds like a stupid question but my parents are really against my bringing my daughter to meet her uncle. He's in a nursing home now and will not live long. (Long story why they haven't met.) Is there something wrong with bringing a toddler to a nursing home? Would I be irresponsible to expose her to that situation?

For those of you who don't know what that show is, it's the one with the freaky egg-like creatures of different colors wrapped in fur that run around chanting "booooooooohbaaaaaaaah!"
They personally freak me out.

Not the ones that go over the knob.
We have an actual handle, like a lever. My son just walked right outside when my husband went out to take the trash. Scarey!
My older kids go outside to play, and cannot lock the bolt from insde.
Do they make safety covers for lever door handles?

She knows what to do (did it once or twice already) she just doesn't want to do it. She also doesn't talk much. I have asked her if she has gone and she says no even if she has. I have already had her tested and she is mentally fine, just very stubborn. Anyone have any tricks to get her to go on a regular basis other than no pull up and stay home all day? I have tried all kinds of rewards, the cold alert pull ups, making her sit on the potty all day.....nothing has worked so far. Should I give up and try again in a few weeks?

When I'm on the phone or talking to someone in person or watching something important he won't be quiet. I tell him to shh, I tell him to watch and listen, I tell him to just be quiet, I tell him to whisper, nothing works. I'm with him alllll the time and when I finally get a chance to talk to an adult person it's very hard because of this. Please help
