Its genetics.
Its dominant vs recessive genes.

But take another look at your daughter & her dad.
Look at her teeth.
Look at certain expressions.
Look at her ears
Look in a few years when her weight changes.
Look at his baby pics
You will see a lot more similiarities than you thought!

You probobly have traits that are dominant over your husband, I'm going to guess this is your first child, but if she is a small child, the way she looks now really isnt much of an idicator as to how or who she will look like. Kids looks change all the time.

That's nothing put my picture next to my sons when we were both 2yrs old we look exactly alike I did the same when my grandson came along and now what looked like twins now looks like triplets all at two yrs old and three generations It is a joke in our family that my gene line doesn't get pregnant the regular way we just kinda reproduce ourselves I only hope to live long enough to see what my great grandchild will look like at two but that is a ways off

It's in the genes. They get all mixed up and any combination can be the result. The next child could look totally like the father.

It's just the luck of the dna draw.
Ever see those Maury Povitch "who's the daddy shows"?
The guy, who later turns out to be father, claim to non fatherhood is that....he/she "don't look nothin like me!"
The child might not resemble either parent very much.
Might look more like Aunt or Uncle maybe....
or a great great grandfather.

When you concieved your daughter, that means you had the stronger gene in the first place. This is why female babies often look like their mothers and male babies look like their fathers. You already had the upperhand in the genepoll and you just happened to have a real strong one.
The next Baby you have could turn out compeltly differant. There are zillions of genetic codes that could take place to make somone look like thier mothers/fathers.

Best not to ask questions and just let nature take its course :))

Don't know. I have three kids. One looks like me but has DH's skin tone and eye and hair color. Another looks like him but has my skin tone, eye and hair color. The third is light like him but look are a combo of the two of us.

I just know it happens. Does your daughter have any of his traits? His fingers and toes maybe?

Good question!

Stronger genes. Obviously you carry the dominant genes in your household.
