at 1 year old they like anything they can push (like a shopping cart or carriage), pull, and dump and fill (like buckets full of snap beads, etc... that they can dump, refill, carry around, and dump out again (its a toddler thing lol). Books are also always a really safe bet. Go to www.toysrus.com or amazon.com and look under the 1 year old age group to search for toys. Good luck!

no longer each and every present must be "particular"--no longer even a first birthday present. maximum homes are cluttered with all sorts of particular promises. Your present will be favored so long because that is thoughtful--I went nuts attempting to %. out a first birthday present for my niece, and wound up making her a sweatshirt with iron-on appliques. clothing is an rather acceptable present. youthful little ones improve very without delay, and that is extreme priced to maintain a baby in clothing. a good new outfit should be very a lot favored, and extremely functional. In our faith, we've toddler namings (equivalent to baptisms). little ones frequently receive both bonds or money, or a present mutually with clothing or a toy. locate some thing you want, and they are going to like it, too. (At age a million, nonetheless, she'll probable be wearing a length 18 months. if you're no longer certain, purchase a gown.)

my son likes music a lot and has pretty much since before birth so music cd's were and still are a good idea for him, I found that story books or board books make for a very nice gift. I have given those to my son, 2 nephews and friends children. I plan on giving them as well to my cousin's daughter maybe for Christmas this year for her first Christmas present. If you know that she likes a certain kids show or maybe something like disney princesses, if she has something like a leap pad for the younger kids you could get her a book for that. My son likes the kids show Backyardigans so my hubby and I were talking the other day of getting him an interactive backyardigan doll, or a small keyboard if I can find one tomorrow.
Good luck.

At one year old, new toddlers are very interested in textures, sounds, and colors...I'd maybe get her a couple of those really nice soft little books (the plastic ones that are washable, b/c as we all know, babies are messy! LOL) or a small toy that lights up and makes different sounds...although that might drive the mom crazy lol...anything colorful with a fun texture will be loads of fun for the little girl. :)

A musical toy. My son had a plastic 'keyboard'-type toy that had animals that lit up with each note. Played classics. He loved it until he was 3.
