Lately my daughter has been getting really nasty diaper rash because her poo is so acidic. She eats the same things the rest of us do so I don't know why this happens to her. Is there any food that could trigger something like that, or any foods that might help her have more normal BMs?

How should we approach this and help her brush teeth? she keeps resisting the brush and refuses to open her mouth. we use special baby brushes and non-flouride tooth paste for babies. we show her how we brush with her but nothing seems to work...thanks for any good advice.

Ok, first off I grew up raised by a single mother, and in my current situation my wife past away a year and half ago. With that in mind a question a crossed my mind recently that I need help with. In my lonlyness since I wife died I stile have found an interest in seeing any one new. I am usually busy looking after our 3 sons who are currently 5 and twins 3 years old, plus I work so. Well a couple of weeks ago late one night long after the boys where a sleep, I was doing what ever lonly man does alone, masturbate, well this night my 5 year old had got'n up to go get a drink from the kitchen and cought me in the act as he passed through the living room. Honestly at first I was embarased and ashamed at first, which why I have been reluctent to talk to about it yet. Cause my mind has posed a question, being I never was raised by a dad, Should a father properly teach his sons how to masturbate??? Much like shaving, riding a bike, and so on..

I asked this at the gradeschooler board, but haven't gotten many answers...I'm asking here. :)

Who here buys into the theory that it's not bad for your child to get sick when they're toddlers because it helps build up their immune system, and by the time they start kindergarten, they won't constantly be sick and staying home? My sons' pediatrician told me this, and I don't buy it. There are SO many strains of the cold virus, flu, etc. out there. What are the chances my son is going to come into contact with the same cold virus twice? If he gets it, yes, he'll be immune, but the next person he comes in contact with who has a cold will more than likely have a different type of cold, so my son's going to be sick again anyway.

If your child was kept at home during infancy and the toddler stage and was rarely sick...when your child started kindergarden, did you notice him constantly sick and missing school? Same for those of you who have kids in daycare...since your child has prob

We have a bedtime routine.
I read 3 books before bedtime and say a goodnight prayer and sing a goodnight song.
The room is comfortable with a room darkening shade and a small night light and with soothing rain sounds of nature.
I have for months laid on the floor of her room for up to an hour and a half every night until she drifts off to sleep but my muscles are getting achy and this is putting a huge strain on the relationship with my husband.
If I try leaving her while she's still awake, I try telling her to stay in her bed, but it usually ends up taking about 2 hours of putting her back consistently and hearing crying the whole time. She gets into such a panicky cry that she acts like she is going to vomit.
PLEEASE HELP!! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I know that my 2 yr. old daughter is a handfull, but I think its just her age. My whole family says that she is that way because I spoil her and dont disipline her enough. When we are at the grocery store I never spank her or even harshly get on to her because there are too many nosey people out there who would call the authorities on you for spanking your kid. My family thinks I am wrong to let her get away with the fits in the store.

My son has been wetting all the way through his diapers at night. I am trying to avoid washing sheets every other day. We have limited his liquid intake an hour before bedtime, but 2-3 times a week he wets so much that it comes through his diaper. Considering having him wear "plastic pants" (if they still make them, do they?). He wears Huggies Supreme diapers, which I thought were the most absorbant...any help would be appreciated.
