reward her....when she sits and a big reward when she actually uses the potty....children's potty books help, too.

Sounds like my 2 year old son.. he does the same thing..
he will either take his diaper off after he pees, hold himself through the diaper while he is peeing , or lay down on the floor and say "change diaper".. don't you just love potty training hahaha!!
what i do is what you are doing i put him on the potty and we sit there for awhile, seems like forever, and nothing happens...
i think there isn't much more that can be done... i make just as big of a deal as i would if he had actually gone in the potty...
Like i tell my husband i can't rush him he'll get when he gets it..
until then i'll just keep doing what i'm doing and wait, wait, and wait..... Good Luck!!

I started out by buying a simple white potty that looked the closest to a regular toilet. No bells n' whistles. Then I got her the "Feel N Learn" pull-ups which are great because when they are wet, they feel wet to the child. Then we had a "sticker" program. I would put her potty in front of the toilet and we would both go potty together. Every time she was successful, she got a sticker that she placed on the bathroom cupboard beside her potty chair. That way she was able to see the rewards of her efforts. And I also made a big effort to praise her really dramatically! Then we'd both empty her potty into the toilet and wave and say "bye-bye peepees/poopoos, thanks for coming out!" She'd sometimes just sit on the chair and "pretend" to potty just so she'd get a sticker! But she quickly figured out that she needed to produce visible results... It took about 2 months. Then I took her shopping and let her pick out her own underwear (Dora). She was so happy to wear them and very, very proud. She had a few accidents but I never made a big deal out of them to her. It got tricky when we went out because it's important that as soon as said she had to potty, we had to pull over right away. I was sure NOT to fall back on the pullups just because we were out. It just prolongs the process. She was able to wear underwear during the day and a pullup at night. Then, eventually she lost the nightime pullup and I woke her at 2am and took her to the potty - every night for about a week. And then that was that.

Every child is different tho - the key is to make a big fuss when they go and not make a fuss if they don't. Good luck with it.

Try getting an egg timer and for a weekend, put her on the toilet every twenty minutes. If she's ready, she'll start telling you it's time to go to the potty when the timer goes off...she might be a little young to understand the whole toilet thing....

however...it sounds like she might be ready. She doesn't seem to like to sit in her dirty diaper anymore.

Some children will use the toilet when they are ready! Don't push her, you'll just make her upset and you will get super frustrated! I heard 3 is the magic age! (Altho of course some start sooner!) Try the panty reward! Go buy some princess panties or some character she likes and say if she doesn't go potty in her diaper she can wear them! You can determine the length of time etc! Or you could try putting them over top of her diaper and say if you have to go to the bathroom tell mommy, you don't want to get your princess panties all dirty!
Other than that, I have no idea!
Good Luck!

This little trick worked wonders with my now 3 year old, who refused to use the toilet. I learned it from a co-worker. When she first told me, I laughed, but tried it when I got frustrated with everything else!!

The next time you go to the bathroom, bring her with you. Before you go, squirt just a little bit of liquid hand soap in the toilet. When you go and when you flush, it will make bubbles. Let her see the bubbles and tell her if she goes potty she can make bubbles too!!! You'd be surprised how quickly she'll start using the toilet so she can make bubbles!!!!

Keep putting her on the potty.Even if she doesn't always use it.Keep track of when she goes in her diaper and try putting her on the potty just before. It also helps to take her to the potty as soon as she awakes every morning and just before bed.It takes sometime for then to associate the feeling of a full bowel or bladder with the potty, but they will get it ,if you are consistent.Don't forget to ask her if she needs to potty, about every half hour.If she says NO,it's okay to put her on the potty and ask her to try for you. When she does praise her and make a big fuss about it.If she doesn't go tell her its okay that she didn;t go this time, but to let you know when she does.BE CONSISTENT AND PATIENT,it's the only way.

Bring her to the bathroom with you when you have to go. Also try rewards. If that still doesn't work, put panties on her and send her to day care. After she peepees in front of all her peers, she will not do it anymore. Peer pressure works wonders when it comes to potty training!

Two is a little young to start potty training. If you force a child to do it, they will never want to do it on her own. She doesn't sound like she is ready yet. Give it time, don't push her so hard.
